Acelero, Inc. seeks a YoungStar Coach to enhance early childhood education quality in Southeastern Wisconsin through coaching, consultation, and data-driven support. This remote role involves in-person visits to various counties and aims to empower local programs to achieve their educational goals.
Responsibilities: The YoungStar Coach will provide professional development through coaching and support programs, facilitate the YoungStar program, collect and validate data, and help develop improvement plans to enhance early childhood education.
Skills: Candidates should possess strong coaching abilities, experience in early childhood education, and skills in data analysis and program evaluation to promote quality improvement in educational settings.
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related fields is required, with 5+ years of experience in early care and education; a Master’s degree is preferred. Certification and training in relevant areas are also necessary.
Location: This is a remote position focusing on the Southeastern region of Wisconsin, with travel for in-person coaching up to 50%.
Compensation: $59444 / Annually

Your Role:
As a YoungStar Coach, you are responsible for providing key aspects of a professional development approach by supporting providers through a cohort-based and/or individual coaching and consultation program. The Coach provides differentiated and equitable support, both in-person and virtually, to programs who are seeking to improve quality and make progress towards their goals. You will coordinate closely with other staff, monitor reports
and trends coming from various data systems to ensure that support is well-targeted and effective. The Coach will provide quality support services to all program types, both enrolled and not enrolled in Wisconsin’s YoungStar program, as required by the State.
**This position is a remote position that works out of a home office and will serve in the Southeastern region of Wisconsin providing both in-person and virtual coaching and facilitation services to the following counties: Waukesha, Kenosha, Racine, and Milwaukee.**
What You’ll Do:
● Promote and support Wisconsin’s YoungStar program.
● Follow Shine and YoungStar protocols to ensure consistent regional/statewide quality and access to services.
● Work with assigned programs to collect and validate data and self-assessment results and to develop improvement goals and plans.
● Engage in a practice, observation, and reflection & feedback coaching cycle with providers.
● Provide tools/resources to support program planning and progress on identified goals.
● Achieve compliance with project deliverables in providing technical assistance (coaching and consultation) services.
● Utilize informal/virtual assessment activities that provide program information on classroom settings, teacher strengths, and areas of growth including teacher and child interactions, classroom instruction, and classroom management.
● Develop and facilitate small group learning environments, including peer-to-peer opportunities, and/or one-on-one coaching.
● Facilitate professional development which may include in-person and/or virtual learning opportunities.
● Complete technical ratings on programs and input data into the database for YoungStar rating; submit quarterly reporting information.
● Participates in assigned meetings, events and training as required.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree or two credentials in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field. Master’s degree preferred. 5+ years of early care and education experience, with 3 + years of program leadership experience and/or 2+ years of coaching experience.
- Experience delivering professional development and coaching support (in-house within a childcare/early education program) or to other programs.
- Completion of all required state training and certifications.
- Experience delivering services in the Practice-Based Coaching model.
- Experience teaching or coaching in an ECE classroom/program setting.
- Recognized as a Master Trainer and/or Approved Consultant through the Wisconsin Registry’s Professional Development Approval System (PDAS).
- Experience working with a variety of ECE program types, including, at a minimum, both family and group child care, including out of school time.
- Experience developing, implementing, and/or participating in a Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) in a program and/or local, regional, or state level, YoungStar preferred.
- Background checks are required for this position.
- Travel required locally or long-distance up to 50% of the time for work-related meetings and functions.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
