Position Overview
Round Hill Partners is seeking a detail-oriented Investment Associate to support our accounting practice acquisition activities. This role combines financial analysis, due diligence execution, and deal support responsibilities. The Investment Associate will work closely with senior team members to evaluate acquisition opportunities and support successful transaction execution.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Sourcing & Screening
Research and identify potential acquisition targets using various databases and sources
Conduct initial screening and qualification of prospective accounting firms
Maintain comprehensive pipeline tracking and deal flow management
Support outreach efforts and initial relationship development
Financial Analysis & Due Diligence
Perform detailed financial analysis of target accounting practices
Build comprehensive financial models and valuation analyses
Analyze historical performance trends, client concentration, and revenue quality
Assess working capital requirements and cash flow projections
Evaluate pricing strategies and service line profitability
Due Diligence Execution
Coordinate and manage due diligence processes and timelines
Prepare detailed due diligence reports and investment recommendations
Support management presentations and stakeholder communications
Conduct reference calls with clients, vendors, and industry contacts
Analyze competitive positioning and market dynamics
Transaction Support
Assist with negotiation preparation and deal structuring analysis
Coordinate with legal, tax, and other professional advisors
Support transaction documentation review and closing processes
Maintain detailed transaction records and documentation
Portfolio Support
Monitor performance of acquired practices against projections
Prepare regular portfolio reports and performance dashboards
Support integration planning and execution activities
Assist with best practice sharing across portfolio companies
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
2-5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or public accounting
CPA certification or progress toward certification preferred
Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities
Experience with M&A transactions or due diligence processes preferred
Technical Skills
Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
Experience with valuation methodologies and techniques
Familiarity with accounting principles and financial statement analysis
Proficiency with databases, research tools, and presentation software
Knowledge of accounting industry dynamics and trends preferred
