The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE
Our research focuses on adapting effective vestibular (balance-related) tests from animal studies for use in human clinical settings. As a research assistant, you will work on an exciting project to design and evaluate a novel device for assessing the vestibular sensors in the ears recorded on the scalp in response to linear head motion. This position offers hands-on experience in research related to potential clinical diagnostics in the field of hearing science and otolaryngology. Your contributions will directly impact advancements in the diagnosis of balance disorders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Conduct literature reviews on vestibular-related research topics including galvanic vestibular stimulation (GVS) and vestibular sensory evoked potentials (VsEPs)
  • Draft a review manuscript on noise-modulated GVS under the guidance of the Principal Investigator
  • Assist with data collection during vestibular testing sessions
  • Conduct preliminary data analysis and basic data entry tasks
  • Participate in lab meetings and provide research progress updates
  • Other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma required
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Academic background including courses in the vestibular system, evoked potentials, and inner ear physiology.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while following detailed instructions.
