Compensation Range:

$17.43 - $24.40

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE
Our research focuses on adapting effective vestibular (balance-related) tests from animal studies for use in human clinical settings. As a research assistant, you will work on an exciting project to design and evaluate a novel device for assessing the vestibular sensors in the ears recorded on the scalp in response to linear head motion. This position offers hands-on experience in research related to potential clinical diagnostics in the field of hearing science and otolaryngology. Your contributions will directly impact advancements in the diagnosis of balance disorders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Conduct literature reviews on vestibular-related research topics including galvanic vestibular stimulation (GVS) and vestibular sensory evoked potentials (VsEPs)
Draft a review manuscript on noise-modulated GVS under the guidance of the Principal Investigator
Assist with data collection during vestibular testing sessions
Conduct preliminary data analysis and basic data entry tasks
Participate in lab meetings and provide research progress updates
Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School diploma required
or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Academic background including courses in the vestibular system, evoked potentials, and inner ear physiology.
Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently while following detailed instructions.
