About the Role
The Director of Purchasing is responsible for the successful overall direction, administration, and coordination of the Purchasing function.
Position Responsibilities
· Direct all purchasing and inventory activities for all departments while ensuring compliance with NJ CCC purchasing and disbursement regulation requirements
· Standardize purchasing and inventory processes
· Lead negotiations with vendors and suppliers
· Draft RFP documents for products and services and manage the bid process
· Administer company’s procurement management agreements
· Manage supplier relationships and contract compliance
· Administer company’s commercial card program
· Satisfy all purchasing and transfer requests in a timely and efficient manner
· Utilize bulk buying and dynamic par inventory levels to maintain highly competitive pricing
· Ensures a high level of satisfaction is achieved and maintained from internal customers (department heads, outlet managers and chefs) regarding the quality and consistency of products and services
· Actively monitors purchasing reports and analyses to optimize cost, quality, and delivery
· Develop, mentor, and motivate the purchasing team
· Maintain Stratton Warren Purchasing system
· Ensures compliance with the company’s internal controls and accounting procedures
· Set up and monitor rebate program
· Must be able to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts and/or unusual hours.
· Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 25 lbs.
· Must have excellent communication and phone etiquette/skills.
· Must be able to sit and work at a computer for prolonged periods of time.
· Must be able to stand at copier workstation and effectively use a computer keyboard.
· Must be able to twist and bend while standing and sitting to access files at desk and in file cabinets.
· Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing high volume Purchasing and Inventory, developing, and implementing procurement and inventory procedures product knowledge and advanced purchasing techniques.
· Minimum five years’ experience in vendor licensing environment preferred
· Must be detail oriented
· Effective communication and organizational skills
· Knowledge of MS Office Suite
· Extensive knowledge of New Jersey Casino Control Act and regulations and procedures related to Purchasing
· Knowledge of Stratton Warren (Agilysys) purchasing system
· Ability to interact with all levels of management
· Multi-functional in a fast-paced environment
· Food and Beverage purchasing experience
· Ability to acquire New Jersey Key Employee License
· Ability to effectively communicate in English

- Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $86,000 -$101,000 annually. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including experience and expertise and may vary from the amount listed above.
