Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Launch and Missile Defense Systems offers an exciting career opportunity for a Computer Operations Analyst – COSA (25-272 & 25-273) to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. This position, located at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO, plays a crucial role in supporting the U.S. President, Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels.

Relocation Assistance is not available for this position, and this role is on-site with no remote options.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program serves as the integrating element of the Missile Defense System. It is an essential operational system that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, observe the battle's development, and dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that allows for an optimized response to threats of all ranges at every phase of flight. C2BMC acts as a force multiplier, globally and regionally networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to enhance performance. Additionally, C2BMC is a crucial component of all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise the current and future capabilities of the missile defense system.

The selected candidate will be part of a team that reports to the C2BMC Watch Officer (CWO) and performs daily system monitoring, operations, and maintenance of the C2BMC systems in a 24/7 operations and test environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Will provide first-level technical support to the warfighter and conduct initial troubleshooting of all local C2BMC hardware, software, and networks
  • Document and report all events and issues to the CWO and receive tasks and direction from the CCC for all operations, tests, and real-world events
  • Assist with all hardware and software installations as directed by local SMEs, and create and maintain user accounts as instructed by local ISSO
  • This position will concentrate on laboratory and testing activities
  • Handles additional duties and assignments as needed

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline is preferred from an accredited university, accompanied by 2 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related discipline with 0 years of experience; or 6 years of related experience may be considered instead of a degree
  • Applicants must possess a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is necessary to start with the ability to obtain SCI clearance
  • DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+ CE, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA Security, etc.) is required to start
  • This position requires rotating 24/7 shift work. The candidate will be assigned to a specific shift and role (Operations or Training) based on mission requirements. Some substitutions will be necessary during off-shifts, including nights and weekends
  • Strong background and experience in the operations and maintenance of large-scale computer and communications systems and networking environments
  • Strong background and expertise in system and/or network administration, including:
    • UNIX
    • Linux
    • Windows
    • Cisco
    • Juniper
  • Strong background and experience in troubleshooting hardware and software components
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active and Current DoD-Issued TS/SCI clearance is highly preferred
  • Experience and knowledge of C2BMC System or Missile Defense Systems

Additional Northrop Grumman Information:

Salary Range: $73,900.00 - $110,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
