Data Engineer
Job Description
Netic builds autonomous AI that books appointments, generates demand, and drives measurable revenue for the $100B+ essential service industries that keep America running. While most AI companies chase novelty, we're solving complex real-world problems for services businesses.
Backed by Founders Fund and Greylock, we've built technology that has autonomously booked tens of thousands of service appointments and generated millions in incremental revenue in just our first year. You'll join us in bringing frontier AI to the physical economy, where the problems are hard, the data is complex, and the impact is immediate and tangible.
What you’ll do
Unify messy data inputs: Ingest customer interactions, CRM events, external data into a single, schema‑managed lake + warehouse.
Streamline in real time: Build Kafka/Kinesis pipelines and low‑latency materialized views that feed agents and ML features.
Harden data quality: Implement automated checks, lineage tracking, and alerting so bad upstream feeds never hit production models.
Serve ML & BI needs: Design feature stores and analytics marts that power both online inference and exec analytics dashboards—one source of truth.
Optimize at scale: Tune partitioning, caching, and resource allocs to keep terabytes moving fast without lighting money on fire.
What you’ll bring
Seasoned data chops: 3‑7 yrs owning batch + streaming pipelines in Python/Scala/Go with Spark, Flink, or Beam.
Warehouse mastery: Deep SQL skills and hands‑on with Snowflake, BigQuery, or ClickHouse at ≥10 TB scale.
Event‑driven fluency: Production experience with Kafka, Pulsar, or Kinesis and change‑data‑capture from OLTP stores.
Infra as code: Comfort with Terraform, CI/CD, Docker/K8s, and observability stacks (Prometheus + Grafana or similar).
Customer‑grade rigor: Obsession with accuracy, latency, and uptime—because every data glitch affects real enterprises.
We believe fulfillment comes from producing your best work with the smartest people together in one room. All roles are in person, in SF (our office is across from Fort Mason). What brings us together is our commitment to:
Live to build
Run through walls and win
Obsess over customers in each line of code
Lose sleep over the "almost perfect"
Show internal locus of control
Prioritize finesse: refinement of first principles thinking, execution, and craftsmanship
