 Monroe Capital is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis who will report to the Management Company’s Chief Financial Officer. This individual will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing internal financial reporting and planning, overseeing the budget processes, and delivering actionable insights to senior leadership. The ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated background in financial planning and analysis, exhibit strong financial acumen with a diversified and comprehensive finance and operations skill set within an investment management or alternative asset firm, with a particular focus on private credit or similar strategies. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have strong experience leveraging technology to improve efficiency while providing deeper insights. 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the annual budgeting process for the management company, partnering with department heads and executive leadership to set financial targets aligned with strategic goals. 
  • Prepare rolling forecasts throughout the year based on evolving business needs and investment activity. 
  • Own the preparation and delivery of monthly and quarterly Actual vs. Budget (AvB) reports for the Management Company. 
  • Perform detailed variance analysis, highlighting key drivers, trends, and potential risks or opportunities. 
  • Present findings to the CFO and senior stakeholders with clear, executive-ready narratives. 
  • Conduct department-level profitability and cost center analyses, including headcount, compensation, and shared services allocations. 
  • Develop models to evaluate operating leverage and scalability across functions as AUM and investment strategies expand. 
  • Produce and enhance recurring internal reporting packages and dashboards for the firm’s leadership team. 
  • Collaborate with Investor Relations, Operations, Legal/Compliance, and HR teams to ensure aligned financial insights across functions. 
  • Streamline and improve reporting tools, templates, and systems to support automated and insightful analytics. 
  • Evaluate and implement technology enhancements (e.g., FP&A tools, ERP integrations) to support finance transformation initiatives. 
  • Act as a key liaison across finance, legal, and investment teams to align management company financial planning with firmwide objectives. 

Requirements

 Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA strongly preferred). 
  • 8–12 years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis or internal reporting, ideally within a private credit, private equity, hedge fund, or asset management firm. 
  • Well-versed in data analytics, revenue growth, EBITDA optimization, cost reduction, financial modeling, budget/forecast, etc. 
  • Deep understanding of management company structures, expense allocations, and investment firm operations. 
  • Exceptional analytical skills, proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, and experience with financial systems such as NetSuite and Concur. 
  • Demonstrated experience with Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, Pyramid). 
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to present financial insights to senior executives. 

 

Compensation: It is expected that the base salary range for this position will be $170-185,000. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications for the role. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as vacation, sick time and parental leave) dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, the employee will be in an ‘at-will position’ and the Firm reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time including for reasons related to individual performance, Firm or individual department / team performance and market factors.
