Description

The Accounting Manger is directly involved in both plant operations and corporate finance activities and initiatives as required. Duties include overall responsibility for accuracy and timeliness of financial and operational management information to be used in reporting financial results.


Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in Monthly Financial Close process.
  • Communicate with accounts payable, billing, and inventory control to maintain accuracy & integrity of the financial statements.
  • Produce financial statement analysis to support management decisions.
  • Leverage information systems and establish efficient processes.
  • Implement best practices and productivity initiatives company-wide to ensure compliance, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Sales and job costing analysis and reporting
  • Gross Margin & EBITDA reporting
  • Business unit financial reporting and analysis.
  • Work directly with the VP of Finance on process improvement
  • Work on projects that integrate division reporting.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 2-5 years of related experience and/or training
  • Active CPA is not required but preferred; CPA can be non-active.
  • Proficiency in 10-key and Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external customers. Strong communication skills are a must.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data. Establish facts and draw valid conclusions; interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and schedule form.


Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
  • Requires fine motor hand and arm movement, manual dexterity and coordination.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department in the facility
