AI Platform Architect (5930)

MetroStar is seeking an AI Platform Architect to lead the development of a transformative AI platform that powers intelligent, cloud-native services for a flagship R&D initiative within our Innovation Lab.

This role is a cornerstone of a strategic investment in next-generation AI systems, blending platform engineering with advanced machine learning and LLM orchestration. What you’ll do:

• Lead the design and deployment of a scalable, cloud-native AI architecture as part of a mission-critical R&D program focused on software modernization and intelligent automation.
• Build hybrid deterministic-agentic AI pipelines using frameworks like LangChain and LlamaIndex to orchestrate modular, multi-step workflows.
• Develop and maintain multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) supporting secure, containerized AI workloads.
• Fine-tune large language models for instruction-following, code synthesis, and domain-specific adaptation.
• Apply reinforcement learning techniques (e.g., RLHF, RLAIF) to optimize agent decision-making across dynamic pipelines.
• Create state machines and self-evaluating workflows that drive continuous improvement and learning from human feedback.
• Integrate code-as-data paradigms (ASTs, control/data flow graphs) to improve model explainability and trust.
• Ensure platform interoperability through API-first, secure design, MCP integration, and MLOps pipelines.
• Partner with a cross-disciplinary team of designers, researchers, and engineers to prototype, validate, and scale AI systems from the ground up.

What you’ll need to succeed:

• 5+ years of experience in AI/ML system design and cloud platforms, with demonstrated leadership in R&D or innovation-focused environments.
• Deep expertise in cloud-native architecture (Kubernetes, serverless, IAM, containerization) and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation).
• Experience fine-tuning LLMs and evaluating them using real-world benchmarks (HumanEval, BigCodeBench, CodeXGlue).
• Familiarity with multi-agent orchestration, agent frameworks (LangChain, Google ADK), and prompt engineering.
• Strong grasp of reinforcement learning, reward modeling, and feedback-driven optimization.
• Excellent proficiency in Python, API development, and secure system design.
• Track record of collaborating across product, research, and engineering teams to bring ideas from concept to deployment.
