The Neuromodulation operating unit develops life-restoring therapies; integrating technologies and applying clinical and economic evidence to increase patient access, improve efficiency of procedures and deliver successful patient outcomes. We provide specialized therapies including Deep Brain Stimulation, Spinal Cord Stimulation, Sacral Neuromodulation, and Targeted Drug Delivery.
We are seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to lead our dynamic web development team in expanding the product capabilities across our therapy continuum. This role combines technical leadership with people management, requiring someone who can guide both the technical direction and career growth of a talented team of web developers.
In this exciting role as a Software Development Manager, you will lead a motivated, diverse, globally distributed, and knowledge-hungry development team delivering world-class products while striving for the highest level of quality, execution, and functional excellence.
This role is responsible for ensuring that software is developed according to good design practices and follows the corresponding requirements set forth by local procedures, regulatory authorities and notified bodies.
Essential Functions:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of web developers across various experience levels
Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and career development discussions
Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture
Recruit, interview, and onboard new team members
Support team members' professional growth through training, conferences, and skill development opportunities
Oversee the development lifecycle from planning through deployment and maintenance
Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and security protocols, including IEC 62304, IEC 82304, and other applicable standards and regulations
Champion engineering excellence through automated testing, CI/CD, and monitoring
Support risk assessment and requirements development
Plan and prioritize development work in alignment with business objectives
Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and delivery commitments
Implement and refine development processes and methodologies
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and communication
Identify and mitigate technical and project risks
Report on team progress, metrics, and deliverables to senior leadership
Prepare team members for certification and regulatory audits and represent the team’s work in audits
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 3+ years of relevant experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in a product-focused technology company
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and DevOps practices
Familiarity with web development and responsive design
Experience with performance optimization and web analytics
Previous experience with remote or distributed teams
