Job Summary
The coordinator, event management serves as the primary marketing and operations contact for various NCAA athletics teams and outside events hosted at Lindenwood University. This position also assists the overall Athletics department as needed.
Essential Job Functions and Performance Indicators
The intent of this job description is to provide a representation of the types of duties and level of responsibility that will be required of positions given this title. Job Responsibilities and Execution
- Oversees game-day staff and overall event operations for selected home games
- Coordinates promotional marketing efforts for various sports programs
- Assists with group ticket sales
- Promotes various events and coordinates and nominates student-athletes for various athletic and academic awards
- Promotes student-athletes to local and regional media
- Creates positive fan environment at athletics contests and events
- Assists with game-day management video broadcasting and streaming
Service Excellence
- Supports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence
- Models, supports, and holds others accountable to the University’s values – integrity, dedication, excellence, creativity, and teamwork
- Assists boosters, parents, opposing teams, etc., with inquiries
Communication, Teamwork, and Collaboration
- Works closely with coaches to promote their teams and events
- Collaborates with various campus groups and organizations to enhance engagement within campus community
- Works with Athletics administration to ensure safe environment for fans
- Assists entire Athletics department as necessary
Job may require other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications – An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, sports management, business, or other related field
- Previous experience within collegiate or professional athletics preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – May be representative, but not all inclusive, of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform this job competently.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
- Experience with basic video production
- Experience with social media applications, Adobe InDesign, and Photoshop
- Ability to multi-task and work under deadline pressure
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Highly organized
- Ability to use good judgment and think critically
- Ability to coordinate with other departments
- Skilled in providing attention to detail
