KBR’s Defense & Technology Solutions provides Systems Engineering & Integration support to the Army’s Missile & Space soldiers with project based and full-time personnel support services. KBR sets the standard with a wide range of services including Government Engineering, Logistics, Business, and International focuses, while ensuring customer satisfaction and providing excellence in contract deliverables.
Job Summary
KBR is seeking to hire an on-call Engineering candidate to support Hardware Systems Engineering for KBR’s Mission Technology Solutions.
The candidate will participate in various learning opportunities designed to expose students to multiple disciplines in the following areas ranging from: Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering & Integration, and Test. KBR supports the US Government with technical expertise in system requirements, hardware design and manufacturability. During this tenure, the Hardware Systems Engineering department is looking to develop a well-rounded individual prepared to tackle the various aspects of a project lifecycle.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with a team of Engineers and Analysts to assess engineering problems
- Independently review technical drawings, documents, and models
- Develop and present findings and issues uncovered during engineering analysis
- Support meetings with USG customers and learn how KBR supports the warfighter
- Work with diverse engineering disciplines to learn the full scope of DoD systems engineering
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must pass a security pre-screen and have the ability to obtain a security clearance
- Must be currently in the pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, materials science, industrial engineering, or related discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well in both a team environment and independently
- Excellent computer skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft office
- Some entry level experience and passion in mechanical design, structural and thermal analysis, 3D CAD design (Solidworks, Creo, or similar)
