Summary:
The Event Experience and Execution Leader is responsible for the strategy, design, and flawless execution of both internal and external events that reinforce our culture, support our business goals, and strengthen our brand. From colleague town halls and leadership summits to client-facing activations and enterprise-wide celebrations, this leader ensures every experience is meaningful, inclusive, and impactful.

In this role, the leader will also support and collaborate closely with a team of event managers—providing strategic guidance, operational oversight, and mentorship to ensure consistency, creativity, and excellence across all event touchpoints. By empowering the team and fostering a culture of innovation and accountability, this leader helps elevate the overall event experience and drives continuous improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and lead the execution of internal and external events that reinforce company culture, support business goals, and elevate the brand.
  • Manage, mentor, and empower a team of event manages, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Set strategic event goals and oversee the full event lifecycle—from concept through post-event evaluation—ensuring flawless execution and measurable impact.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Corporate Communications, Marketing, Business Segments, and the Executive Leadership Team to align event strategies with enterprise and segment priorities.
  • Lead budget planning and management for all events, ensuring effective use of resources and strong ROI.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, including sourcing, contracting, onboarding, and performance management.
  • Leverage tools such as Cvent for registration and Workfront for marketing coordination to streamline operations and enhance attendee experience.
  • Introduce innovative formats, technologies, and engagement strategies to keep events fresh, inclusive, and scalable.
  • Analyze event metrics and feedback to assess performance, identify opportunities, and inform future planning.
  • Partner with Marketing and Communications to develop compelling event content and collateral that aligns with strategic messaging.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal partners, sponsors, and external vendors to ensure seamless collaboration and long-term success.
  • Support the development and implementation of enterprise-wide event standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Coordinate calendaring with senior leaders and maintain alignment with the enterprise-wide Huntington events calendar.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of experience planning and executing high-impact internal and external events
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role with direct reports

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field
  • Industry certifications (CMP, CSEP, PMP)
  • Strong strategic mindset and project management capabilities
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working across a matrixed organization and managing senior-level stakeholders
  • Experience managing enterprise-scale virtual, hybrid, and in-person events
  • Expertise in budgeting, financial oversight, and vendor management
  • Familiarity with marketing, branding, and promotional strategies aligned to business goals
  • Proficiency with CVENT, Microsoft Office Suite, and other event technology platforms
  • Demonstrated success in mentoring and developing high-performing teams
