Location: Columbia Neighborhood, Washington


Start Date: August 2025


Children: Two children, ages 8 and 5


Compensation: $30–$35/hour, based on qualifications and experience


Schedule: Monday–Friday, with occasional weekend evenings (weekend support to be scheduled with a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice to maintain work-life balance)


Hours: 25–35 hours per week, depending on household needs


Overnights: Occasional, with advance notice


Guaranteed Hours: 30-35 hours per week based on candidates desire


Pets: One friendly dog


Family Overview: This kindhearted and communicative family of four is seeking a proactive and reliable nanny/household manager to become a long-term partner in supporting their home and children. Both parents work full-time and value a candidate who brings structure, patience, and a collaborative spirit. Their ideal match is someone who communicates openly, takes initiative, and is equally comfortable engaging with children and managing household responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide attentive and engaging care for two school-aged children (ages 8 and 5)
  • Typical hours: 10:00 AM–6:00 PM (flexibility appreciated)
  • Assist with after-school transitions, homework support, and creative play
  • Occasional date night coverage (approximately 2x/month on Fridays or Saturdays from 5:00–10:00 PM)
  • General tidying and upkeep of shared living spaces
  • Organizing children’s bedrooms, play areas, and school materials
  • Folding and putting away laundry
  • Light kitchen maintenance (unloading dishwasher, wiping counters, sweeping)
  • Grocery shopping, dry cleaning pickup, and other errands as needed
  • Managing the family calendar and coordinating extracurricular activities
  • Occasional yard work or liaising with outdoor maintenance providers

Qualifications:
- Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience caring for children ages 4 and up (experience in classroom or childcare center settings is a plus)
- CPR and First Aid certified
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Reliable personal vehicle (a family car will be available for most driving responsibilities)
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- COVID-19 vaccinated
- Non-smoker and comfortable around dogs
- Excellent references from similar long-term roles
