Organization Overview: The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. Position Summary: The Financial Analyst will create, produce, maintain, and interpret financial analyses to support key decision-making across finance areas including contract funding, budgeting, annual audit, vendors, and general accounting. The Financial Analyst will be lead support for budget software installation, training and roll-out to programs.
Schedule: Monday - Friday (9:00am to 5:00pm)
Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000
Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary offer will be based on the candidate’s number of years experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.
Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties

- Support Financial Reporting Manager in annual budget process including as system lead expert for new software installation, training and roll-out. Be part of the training team for Budget system, new staff and enhancements.
- Develop, update and maintain multiple methods of allocations for organization-wide shared costs
- Assist Payroll Manager in biweekly payroll and fringe-related postings, including reconciliations to Paycom and Accounts Payable amounts
- Develop and analyze custom financial analysis from large data sets for funder, program and summary reporting as needed
- Assist Program Accountants and Program staff in budgeting and forecasting
- Prepare presentations for managers and participate in budget meetings and trainings
- Assist in year-end close. Provide support for annual Audit including data verification and preparation of support schedules
- Monitor and test financial data to ensure data integrity and accuracy
- Develop ad-hoc reporting for key business initiatives, as requested
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required, major in Accounting/Finance preferred
- Advanced Excel skills, especially handling large data sets for summary reporting
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in related field
- Knowledge of accounting and financial reporting
- Knowledge of grant processing including federal, state and local government laws and regulations regarding grant administration including the Uniform Guidance
- Working knowledge of government contracts.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have/be:
- Working knowledge of Intacct and budgeting software platforms (experience with Vena Solutions a plus)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills
- Prior experience with NYC PASSPort (or other government portals) a plus
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
