Staff Accountant - Financial Services

Job Summary

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records, performing general accounting, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy of our financial reporting and compliance with applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger

Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts

Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures

Prepare supporting documentation for financial audits and tax filings

Maintain and organize financial records in compliance with company policies and GAAP

Analyze financial data and assist in generating reports for management

Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed

Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational efficiency

Continuously look for ways to improve accounting processes and controls

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

1–3 years of relevant accounting experience; financial services experience a plus

Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)

High attention to detail and strong analytical skills

Excellent time management and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus
