OVERVIEW:

 

The senior content manager will primarily manage news and web content development, review and search engine optimization. A successful candidate will have expertise developing ideas for and writing marketing and communications content for owned channels including social media, blog, web, and email. The senior content manager is creative and has strong project management skills and the ability to report on content performance metrics.

 

This role is a hybrid position, with some in-office collaboration days required.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

  • This role is one of the primary engines that helps achieve consumer-facing marketing goals for the organization.
  • As a content champion, the Senior Content Manager is responsible for growing Emory Healthcare's omnichannel content engagement strategy.
  • Part of the Content & Design Team, this hands-on role will develop and execute a wide variety of content marketing projects that produce actionable and measurable results for editorial goals and marketing campaign objectives.
  • Specifically, this role builds content campaigns that drive awareness for our services, products, locations, research, innovation, etc., for consumer, prospective employee and/or B2B audiences, aligned with strategic goals.
  • A typical day for the Senior Content Manager includes managing, reviewing, and optimizing editorial calendars, monitoring industry competitors, investigating and assigning stories, working with designers, social media team members, or internal clients, and examining data to make predictions about current and future campaign success.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and develop clever, beautiful, impactful, and compelling storytelling, video production, photos, and social posts to drive consumer engagement. 
  • Delivers creative content solutions of low to high complexity that are often featured in social media posts and in other owned channels. 
  • This role will host meetings with teammates (Content Manager, Content Specialist, Graphic Designers), internal stakeholders, Senior Marketing Managers, and agencies to manage content production, provide strategic recommendations and assign projects in collaboration with Corporate Director.
  • Works with colleagues across Emory Healthcare's marketing team and cross-functional partners to develop content for consumer and patient journeys. 
  • Collaborates with Emory Healthcare, Winship Cancer Institute and Woodruff Health Sciences Communications, AAE and EHC Transformation teams to mine and repurpose content to achieve business goals.
  • Partners with communicators on these teams and others co-produce new content and plan use across owned channels.
  • Provides strategic consultation to operational teams needing marketing content support; must be adept as strong client management and recommending appropriate content development strategies and solutions. 
  • With teammates, publish stories, social and web content; contribute to social campaign concepts. 
  • Manage editorial calendars and project production timelines; assists in creating and maintaining content production SOPs.
  • Reviews analytics regularly and uses A/B testing to improve content performance; shares findings with team
  • Makes data-informed content strategy recommendations, researching trends in content marketing and best practices in web, social, email or other consumer-facing creative.
  • May coordinate focus groups to gain feedback from a consumer panel on potential content, messaging and creative material.
  • Experiments with generative AI for content development efficiency and assists team in defining testing, recommended use, and recommended tools.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field 
  • Five years experience in content marketing, writing/editing, or digital marketing roles; healthcare experience a plus
  • Advanced copywriting & editing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop content for multimedia, web and written formats, informed by design and creative best practices 
  • Ability to provide clear direction to designers, videographers and other creative teams to tell compelling stories that align with business goals 
  • Conceptual and creative thinker with a strong point of view 
  • Experience with organic search & translation into precise SEO requirements & recommendations 
  • Basic understanding of production and technical processes required for marketing objectives, including CRM/dynamic content, web publishing in a CMS, print production, and digital publishing workflows.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to solve complex problems swiftly and autonomously
