Position Overview

We are seeking a Forward Deployed Software Engineer (FDSE) to serve as the technical bridge between Centex Technologies and our clients. In this role, you will translate complex business challenges into innovative data-driven solutions, combining technical expertise with client-facing responsibilities to deliver transformative outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner directly with clients to understand their most pressing challenges and design innovative data solutions
• Apply technical expertise and creative problem-solving to help organizations transform their data into actionable insights
• Engage in system architecture design, data integration, custom application development, and executive presentations
• Analyze complex problems and evaluate implications of potential technical solutions
• Adapt quickly to new technologies, programming languages, and methodologies as project needs evolve
• Take full ownership of projects from conception to completion
• Collaborate internally with product teams, engineers, and business strategists
• Work on-site with clients as needed to gain deeper understanding of their operational environment
• Develop solutions that transform large-scale data into valuable business outcomes

Qualifications

• Strong engineering background, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar
• Highly analytical mindset and eagerness to solve technical problems
• Experience or interest in working with large-scale data
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in teams of technical and non-technical individuals
• Comfort working in rapidly changing environments with dynamic objectives
• Ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision
• Strong communication skills to interact with both technical teams and executives
• 1+ years of relevant, post-college work experience

Physical Demands

This position requires the ability to sit for extended periods, operate a computer, and perform other light office tasks. The ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally may be required.

Work Environment

Primarily an office environment with interaction with colleagues and occasional interaction with external stakeholders.

Work Status, Schedule, Travel

• Full-time
• Monday – Friday
• Travel up to 25% to client sites. Additional travel may be required for training or project meetings.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, Data Science, or a related technical field
• 1+ years of relevant, post-college work experience in software engineering, data science, or related field
• Experience with software development, lifecycle, and deployment processes
• Demonstrated experience with data analysis, data integration, or data pipeline development
• Project experience showing the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional teams
• Prior experience in consulting, customer-facing roles, or technical implementation preferred
