The Purchasing Associate plays a key role in supporting the purchasing and estimating operations. This position is responsible for maintaining vendor relationships, ensuring accurate and timely purchase orders, analyzing costs, and assisting with the coordination of materials and services required for home construction projects.

  

Primary Responsibilities

· Issue, track, and manage purchase orders in accordance with project timelines and budgets, item costs, and subcontractor bids.

· Maintain accurate pricing, vendor agreements, and information within purchasing software.

· Assist in cost analysis and budgeting for new home construction projects.

· Support the bidding process by gathering, organizing, and analyzing subcontractor and supplier proposals.

· Collaborate with construction and design teams to ensure accurate material takeoffs and selections.

· Monitor vendor performance, delivery schedules, and compliance with contracts.

· Resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure proper documentation for accounting.

· Provide general administrative support to the purchasing and estimating department.

· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement processes and cost control.

  

Work Environment

· This position operates in a professional office environment in Cypress, Texas, with some exposure to construction sites. Occasional travel to job sites or vendor locations may be required.

Requirements

 · Strong analytical and organizational skills.

· Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.


Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. 

· 1-3 years of purchasing or procurement experience, ideally in residential homebuilding or construction.
