Digital Marketing Manager

 A&W Restaurants Inc. is looking to add a Digital Marketing Manager to its team! 

Summary

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of executing successful strategies for online and digital platforms including social media, AWrestaurants.com, app, online ordering, loyalty and brand reputation. A background in a franchise retail or restaurant environment is preferred.  This position will be located on-site at the corporate office in Lexington, KY. 

Essential Functions

1. Develop and implement a comprehensive digital marketing strategy to support brand awareness, customer engagement, and sales goals, including maintaining, growing, and enhancing A&W’s national social media channels and fostering a strong online community.
2. Maintain a digital marketing calendar that aligns with national sales event launches and other promotions. 
3. Plan and maintain email and text marketing campaigns to drive engagement, loyalty and sales through the management of A&W’s Mug Club. 
4. Oversee AWrestaurants.com ensuring a seamless user experience and guide the roadmap for tech enhancements and integrations, including loyalty and app.
5. Leverage social listening and reputation management platforms to gather actionable customer insights, driving improved understanding of the A&W customer.
6. Stay up to date on the latest digital marketing trends and technologies, and identify opportunities for innovation.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, training and IT to ensure alignment and consistency in messaging and branding. 
8. Manage direct reports roles and responsibilities, performance, growth, and output.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has one direct report. 

Requirements

 Physical Demands

This role is largely desk and computer focused. However, it does require some sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving boxes and other marketing materials up to 50lbs. Additionally, all corporate employees will be asked to work in the company-owned restaurants at least four times a year for shifts lasting 4-9 hours. Standing, cleaning and fast-paced mobility is expected during work in the restaurants.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. We offer a hybrid schedule; hours will fall between 7 am and 7 pm Monday- Friday, with some weekend and evening events required. The position would be expected to report to our Lexington, KY, headquarters. Schedules are subject to supervisor and/or Company approval.

Travel

Some travel related to professional development, site visits, and conferences may be required for this position.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or related field and at least 5+ years of experience in a professional marketing, communications or administrative role. Relevant experience will be accepted for consideration in lieu of formal degree.

1. Experience with leveraging social media management, social listening and analytics tools.
2. Experience with Excel/spreadsheet management.
3. Experience with WordPress/Drupal/other CMS.

Preferred Experience

1. Restaurant and/or retail, franchise experience
