Scope of the Role

The Shopify Merchandiser will manage the online merchandising strategy and execution, optimising product listings, organizing collections, and ensuring visual consistency across the storefront. The ideal candidate brings both retail sensibility and analytical skills to drive conversions and enhance the customer journey.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Shopify Store Management

  • Manage and update product listings with accurate descriptions, high-quality images, and SEO best practices
  • Organize collections, categories, and navigation for intuitive browsing
  • Implement promotions (discounts, bundles, upsells) to drive sales
  • Monitor inventory levels and prevent stockouts

Visual Merchandising & Content

  • Curate attractive homepage layouts and product displays
  • Collaborate with designers/marketers on banners, videos, and graphics
  • Maintain visual and brand consistency throughout the storefront

Retail-Inspired Strategy

  • Apply in-store merchandising tactics (e.g., seasonal displays, cross-selling) to the digital space
  • Analyze data to optimize product placement and navigation flow
  • Conduct competitor research to spot trends and merchandising opportunities

Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Use Shopify Analytics, Google Analytics, and other tools to track KPIs
  • Generate and present reports on product performance and merchandising ROI
  • Run A/B tests on product pages and promotional elements

Customer Experience & Retention

  • Enhance site usability with clear CTAs and mobile-first design
  • Support retention strategies via email/SMS campaigns
  • Respond to customer feedback on product visibility and presentation

  • 2+ years of experience in retail merchandising, e-commerce, or Shopify store management
  • Proficiency with Shopify admin, themes, and merchandising tools (e.g., Shogun, PageFly)
  • Understanding of SEO, UX best practices, and conversion rate optimisation (CRO)
  • Experience with product photography or working closely with graphic designers (Canva/Photoshop)
  • Strong analytical skills; proficiency with Google Analytics, Excel, or Shopify reports
  • Bonus: knowledge of inventory management or retail buying
  • Excellent communication and project coordination skills
