WWPS is seeking a QA/QC Manager for Process Piping to join our growing team in Lafayette, Indiana. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, technically skilled, highly organized, communicate clearly and have a proven ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment. Candidates’ work history must represent increased levels of responsibility on a progressive basis throughout their career.
The Quality Assurance Manager for Process Piping must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in inspections along with Semiconductors construction and prior Quality Assurance experience on a project of greater than $100M preferred.
Local candidates highly preferred. Relocation budget possibly available for outstanding candidates. NO PER-DIEM AVAILABLE.
\n- This position is accountable for the overall development, assessment of compliance and quality assurance/control for the execution of QA Program, including managing, supporting process improvement initiatives, and reporting. This position also collaborates with the project team to ensure implementation of processes, ensure compliance and/or execution on timelines and quality deliverables. Responsibilities: Develops Test/Inspection plans as per technical specifications. Implements the QA Program and checks field installations for compliance with contract documents.
- Experience and solid understanding of design & construction Quality systems
- Coordinates with Architect, PKA as well as COP for compliance with the Design requirements, including non-conformance reports (NCR), punch list items, and final resolution of such.
- Monitors subcontractors for compliance to contract documents and design specifications.
- Monitors subcontractor and supplier workmanship.
- Supervises installation of material and finishes for Quality Assurance compliance.
- Manages quality assurance observation reporting in BIM 360 Field.
- Provides resolution of issues like punch list items and non-compliance reports. Provides a direct communication channel to the QAQC Director for concerns, observations, and good practices noted by Sub-Contractor’s Quality Control representatives, and as well as participates in pre-activity meetings to review and set quality expectations and weekly Quality Assurance meetings.
- Implements Quality Assurance software, tracking, indicators, recognition programs.
- QA Manager would coordinate necessary documents / plans / to ensure all inspection records are received in a timely manner to facilitate inspections.
- Working knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements and AIA guidelines as applicable to design and construction field.
- Ability to interpret all related codes and standards to verify Building Envelope installation as it pertains to Process Mechanical activities. Along with local and state regulations and other applicable regulations, standards and guidance.
- Ability to identify and/or resolve quality and compliance issues with others in a proactive, diplomatic, flexible and constructive manner.
- Familiarity with standard industry documentation, training, and investigation practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to clearly communicate with clients, peers, and employees.
- Ability to build and lead high performing teams at the project and department levels
- Mid-Level understanding of Microsoft Office, Bluebeam and BIM 360 Field.
- Develops, implements, and ensures compliance with a project's written Quality Assurance Program.
- Management of Quality Observation Reporting.
- Manages a project's QA program, in conjunction with Project Managers, superintendents, Trade QC and other field personnel.
- Monitoring of field installation for compliance.
- Liaison with owner / General contractor / and architect's coordinator.
- Resolution of QA issues, including NCR and punch list items.
- Responsible for field observation and inspection as required to ensure compliance and adherence to the program, non-conformances reports (NCR), punch list items, etc.
- Responsible for field observation, inspection and reporting relating to project specifications.
- Administers and procures all required testing reports.
- Attends pre-bid and pre-construction meetings with Owner, A&E, General Contractor, and subcontractors to discuss project requirements.
- Maintains technical and other pertinent documents in documents library.
- Quality Manager to walk the project to check subcontractor quality as required.
- Prepares the final walk-through checklists for subcontractor site work.
- Maintains the files in relation to the requirements of the Quality Control Manual.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Utilize the checklists from BIM 360 software with iPad to conduct inspections.
- Reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager.
- Verify all installations meet the required Contract drawings, specifications, Codes & Standards.
- Before requesting COP inspections, verify that they do conform to the all Code requirements, drawings and project specifications.
- Confirm that all contractors follow the required and current drawings and specifications.
- Facilitate efficient communication between the contractor and owner representatives.
- Tracking and resolving any deficiency and correction notices in a timely manner.
- QC Manager Requirements: Gas, Plastic, PV, UPW, PCW, Chemical, PPL
- Visual Inspection Certifications: ASNT VT Level II Certification, ASNT SNT-TC-1A Level II Certification, Caliber QC Visual Inspection Level II Certification
- Weld Inspection Certifications: AWS Certified Welding Inspector Credential (CWI), IIW International Welding Inspector Certification, Relevant vendor weld certification course
- Prefer Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Architecture, Engineering, Science, Construction Management or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Quality Assurance related role with experience implementing Quality Programs.
