FINANCE GENERALIST
REPORTS TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS/CFO
RELATES CLOSELY WITH: FINANCE DEPARTMENT/HR MANAGER
CLASSIFICATION: PART-TIME// UP TO 20 HOURS WEEKLY
SALARY: $26/HR
WestGate Church, a non-denominational, multi-congregational church situated in one of the most diverse and influential regions of the world—the Silicon Valley—is seeking an energetic, skilled Finance Generalist to support the Human Resources and Finance teams by assisting with administrative, clerical, and financial tasks. This part-time role (Monday-Friday) may require occasional work on Saturdays and Sundays as well as evening hours.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university; or over five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively and clearly to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to juggle multiple tasks and give directions.
- Have a service oriented mindset, be responsive and clear in communication, possess strong multi-tasking skills, and have high attention to detail.
- The ideal candidate’s skill will have proven experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, organization and management, administrative tasks, spreadsheets, systems management, and process improvement.
- Demonstrates excellent time management, balancing responsibilities while thriving in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reconcile bank statements, including cash deposits, payroll expenses, and vendor payments.
- Record and document donations (cash, check, stock, and other forms) in Planning Center.
- Provide daily administrative and operational support to the Financial Specialist and Director of Executive Operations.
- Organize and maintain legacy hard-copy files; assist in identifying and eliminating outdated or unnecessary documents.
- Support the HR Manager in updating and maintaining accurate employee records.
- Assist the HR Manager in tracking and documenting compliance requirements in Planning Center.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Stand for extended periods.

- Work typically occurs Sunday-Thursday, with occasional Fridays, Saturdays, or evenings as needed
