As a senior data scientist within Global Insights & Analytics, you will be responsible for Visa’s product and marketing data, insights, and analysis ecosystem. You will use data sourced from Visa’s internal systems, CRM systems, and from native systems of other marketing channels such as email, digital, social, search, programmatic, partners, and events. 

You will contribute to insight extraction and data visualization work streams that will be shared across Visa’s marketing and product organizations at all levels and geographies. You will work closely with technology teams to transform business and data insight delivery and integration to a new level, improving the marketing organization’s ability to track and optimize performance. A successful candidate will have experience evaluating media campaign performance and driving actionable insights to help influence later initiatives.

Most of your time will be spent assisting the analytics team on driving dashboard updates and organizing task timelines, along with the opportunity to plug into campaign planning and execution life cycle. You will be working on analysis and diagnosis of marketing performance. You will monitor trends in KPIs and performance drivers and translate those data into actionable insights and recommendations. You will work closely with the marketing team to increase understanding of what works and what does not work in Visa’s marketing, with a strong point of view on how strategies should evolve going forward.

Essential Functions

  • You will support performance reporting and marketing intelligence for the marketing organization. 
  • You will bring consistency to reporting by leading rigorous data processes to aid in the automation of KPI reporting, dashboards, and other ad hoc reports.
  • You will focus on improving operational excellence through identification and execution of initiatives that create efficiency, remove obstacles, and improve existing processes.
  • You will stay abreast of best practices in B2C/B2B marketing and new applications. You will advise on the ideal ways and hacks to track and measure campaign performance.
  • You will act as an agency point on contact to ensure seamless and timely media data collection and reporting.
  • You will collect Visa internal and industry benchmarks to add context to analysis.

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about using data to help drive decisions within a high growth / global marketing team.


Basic
• 2-4 years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or at least 1 year of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA)
• You have prior experience working in marketing analytics with a track record of success.
• 1-2 years of experience using SQL/Hive etc. with large data sets to support analysis
• 1-2 years of experience working with reporting tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Datorama, Google DataStudio etc.
• Superb organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred
• 4+ years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA)
• Experience analyzing data related to marketing activities such as content creation, events such as trade shows & conferences, Webinars, partner led marketing, CRM through email, media campaigns etc.
• Prior media activation / advertising experience (social and digital), preferably within the B2B space or product marketing data management and analytics experience
• Strong business acumen and strategic mindset
• Strong collaboration and communication skills – demonstrating the ability to partner effectively with different business partners, both internally (i.e., Regions, Product Org) and externally (i.e., Agency Partners).

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 155,300.00 to 225,300.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
