About the Role
We are seeking an experienced PROFIsafe Contractor to support industrial automation and functional safety projects for U.S.-based clients. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience integrating PROFIsafe into safety-critical systems using industrial protocols such as PROFINET and PROFIBUS, and be capable of working independently while collaborating with remote engineering teams and occasionally visiting client facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and troubleshoot PROFIsafe-based safety systems in industrial automation environments.
- Integrate PROFIsafe with safety PLCs, I/O modules, drives, and safety devices in line with project requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure safety compliance (e.g., ISO 13849, IEC 61508).
- Perform diagnostics, validation, and safety testing of PROFIsafe implementations.
- Provide remote and on-site technical support to client teams during development, commissioning, or maintenance phases.
- Deliver documentation, status updates, and technical recommendations as required by project scope.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience working specifically with PROFIsafe in industrial automation projects.
- Proficiency with PROFIBUS and/or PROFINET protocols.
- Experience with safety PLCs from Siemens, Beckhoff, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of relevant safety standards (IEC 61508, ISO 13849, SIL/PL).
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and communication skills.
- Must reside in a U.S. time zone and be authorized to work in the United States.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically to client sites as needed (typically short-term visits).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified PROFIsafe or PROFINET Engineer (PI International or equivalent).
- Prior experience working with robotic cells, automated machinery, or process control environments.
- Familiarity with tools such as TIA Portal, STEP 7, TwinCAT, or other PLC programming environments.
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate based on experience and contract duration.
