About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Product Analyst to support the Upgrade Personal Loans team with data-driven insights and experimentation. This role will be instrumental in designing and analyzing A/B tests, conducting product performance analysis, and ensuring Product Managers have accessible, actionable data to drive strategic decisions. 

In this role, you'll drive data-informed product decisions that directly impact Upgrade's personal loan offerings and customer experience. You'll build the analytical foundation that enables the Product team to optimize conversion rates, improve customer satisfaction, and drive sustainable growth. Your work will be essential in helping Upgrade maintain its competitive edge in the personal lending space through rigorous experimentation and data-driven product development.

This role will be based in our San Francisco or Wilmington, Delaware office in a hybrid capacity, 2-3 times per week.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Design, implement, and manage A/B test frameworks for personal loan products and features
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering teams to define test parameters, success metrics, and statistical requirements
  • Conduct thorough test reads and statistical analysis to determine significance and business impact
  • Document test methodologies, results, and recommendations for stakeholder consumption
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive dashboards and reporting for personal loan product performance
  • Monitor key product metrics including conversion rates, user engagement, loan origination volumes, and customer satisfaction
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities through deep-dive analysis of product data
  • Create automated reporting solutions to provide real-time insights to Product Managers
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover customer behavior patterns and product optimization opportunities
  • Research market trends and competitive landscape to inform product strategy
  • Synthesize complex data findings into clear, actionable recommendations for product improvements
  • Support product roadmap decisions with quantitative analysis and data-backed recommendations
  • Build self-service analytics tools and resources for Product Managers to access key metrics independently
  • Create and maintain data documentation, metric definitions, and analysis guidelines
  • Train Product Managers on available data resources and analytical tools
  • Establish data governance processes to ensure consistency and accuracy across product analytics
  • Partner closely with Product Managers to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions
  • Work with Engineering teams to implement tracking and ensure data quality
  • Collaborate with Credit Risk and Operations teams to understand product performance holistically
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders

 

What We Look For:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in product analytics, preferably in financial services or fintech
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis
  • Proven experience designing and analyzing A/B tests and statistical experiments
  • Experience with product analytics tools and methodologies
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, or similar)
  • Experience with statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and experimental design
  • Familiarity with product analytics platforms (Heap, Fullstory, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar)

The compensation range of this position in San Francisco, CA is USD $100,000 - $120,000 annually plus equity and benefits. Within this range, an individual's base pay will be dependent on a variety of factors, including without limitation, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience. 

Upgrade has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States and Canada, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The range could vary depending on what ultimately is determined to be the candidate’s primary work location.
