General Summary:
We’re looking for a Director of Digital Transformation to join our dynamic, Agile-focused team, driving operational success across business initiatives that extend beyond technical builds. This role centers on leadership, planning, and communication ensuring delivery goals are clear, stakeholder alignment is strong, and teams stay focused on delivering outcomes that matter.The ideal candidate will act as a strategic partner, comfortable with ambiguity, confident engaging executive stakeholders, and skilled in driving work from concept to completion. You will be responsible for aligning priorities, tracking progress, reporting on success, and keeping teams moving forward through clarity, structure, and proactive communication.
Location: Hybrid in Portland, ME, Chattooga, TN or Atlanta (Sandy Springs), GA campus.
Job Specs:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Project Manager, or in a strategic delivery role within an Agile environment
- Strong background in leadership, communication, and planning across complex or cross-functional initiatives
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Rally
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, taking full ownership of priorities and stakeholder communications
- Comfortable working in a non-technical, business operations-focused environment
- Excellent executive presence; able to manage and influence senior stakeholders
- Self-driven and adaptable with a genuine curiosity and commitment to team success
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think through delivery strategy in ambiguous situations
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams toward clear business objectives, focusing on delivery alignment and execution planning rather than technical product design
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and project teams to clarify work goals, define milestones, and ensure timely execution
- Manage workstream documentation, delivery timelines, budgeting, and reporting—ensuring accuracy and transparency
- Guide teams through ambiguity and shifting priorities while maintaining momentum and accountability
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership and project stakeholders, delivering clear updates and performance summaries
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies and apply delivery frameworks to keep workstreams progressing and aligned with business goals
- Drive value by translating business needs into actionable delivery plans without requiring step-by-step guidance
- Coach and guide teams, potentially overseeing a direct report depending on structure and candidate preference

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$109,100.00-$224,000.00Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
