Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

As a member of the Enterprise Architecture organization, you’ll be joining a strategic and collaborative team that is passionate about transforming our business and technology capabilities and paving the way for best-in-class solutions.
As a direct report to the VP, Chief Architect for Cloud, Core Platform and Modernization within Enterprise Architecture, you will collaborate with senior Technology and Business leaders and apply your knowledge of modern technology to influence and innovate solutions that impact the business. In this role we will look to you for:
-Business and Technology Partnership: Collaborate with business and technology leaders to develop and implement innovative Cloud and Core Platform services.
-Leadership and Development: Lead, grow, and develop a high-performing team of cloud and core platform architects.
-Strategic Decision-Making: Leverage your expertise to guide critical cloud decisions, establishing and maintaining AWS and Azure cloud standards across the organization.
-Platform Guidance: Provide expert guidance on the selection and use of enterprise-grade core platforms, which include enterprise network, managed containers, observability, ServiceNow, end-user, and hosting services, ensuring scalability and robustness.
-Strategic Development: Lead the development of strategic cloud and core platform technology direction and architecture vision for the organization.
-Technology Approval: Evaluate and approve technology solutions for cloud and core platforms, ensuring they meet organizational needs and industry best practices.
-Identify creative ways to leverage cloud and core platform technologies to maximize value and performance while minimizing cost.
-Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Risk, Compliance, Legal, Architecture, and Engineering teams to ensure solutions adhere to enterprise standards, regulatory requirements, and modern architecture guiding principles.

What Will You Do?
Hold organizational responsibility for a major segment of Technology Architecture, supporting the Cloud, Core Platform, and Modernization Architecture team.
Collaborate with senior leadership in Technology and Business to develop architecture priorities and direction that enable business imperatives.
Exhibit strong thought leadership in modern architecture principles and technology modernization.
Drive continuous technology transformation to minimize technical debt.
Establish a partnership with Senior Software Engineering leadership.
Identify opportunities to leverage technology advances by analyzing key industry and technology trends to assess their potential impact on the enterprise.
Define and lead technology proof of concepts to ensure the feasibility of new technology architecture solutions.
Define target state technology architecture and roadmaps.
Ensure alignment of IT initiatives with the target state.
Build strong partnerships with engineering to ensure proper alignment of skills with technology direction.
Prepare and deliver comprehensive communications to convey architectural direction and its alignment with enterprise strategy.
Optimize talent strategy to ensure a proper mix of resources and attract and recruit the best talent.
Continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the architecture.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
Bachelor’s in technology related field or equivalent, with 10+ years of experience in technology architecture.
Experience mentoring architecture leaders and demonstrating organizational leadership in an agile model.
Ability to lead strategic technology direction and architecture vision, aligning technology target states and roadmaps with business goals.
Proven track record of influencing C-level leadership and driving decisions.
Strong understanding of value creation and business capability models, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
Expertise in software engineering, particularly in insurance technology.
Passion for technology transformations.
Hands-on cloud and core platform experience in the last 3 years, with current experience in AWS, Azure, APIs, Accelerators, and DevSecOps.
Experience with large-scale technology platforms, including enterprise network, managed containers, observability, ServiceNow, end-user, and hosting services.
Ability to execute technology modernization initiatives, including cloud-native migration and API strategy.
Cloud Architecture Certification (AWS, Azure, or GCP) or strong cloud architecture experience.
Good understanding of security and proficiency in designing security solutions aligned with NIST Cybersecurity Framework and Cloud Security Alliance methodologies.
Hands-on experience in modernizing data technology and information architecture on cloud.
Familiarity with advanced analytics techniques using Machine Learning and AI, including generative AI.
What is a Must Have?
Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in work experience.
Eight years of experience in enterprise, application, and/or information architecture within a line of business or enterprise area.
Two years of previous management experience.
