Job Description
A leading medical technology partner is seeking a Device Support Specialist, New Indications (Southeast US) based in Atlanta, GA. This full-time, field-based role focuses on supporting clinical trial oncology patients using Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields) therapy. The position is part of a Center of Excellence business unit and reports to the Regional Manager, New Indications DSS for the Americas and APAC regions.
Responsibilities
- Support clinical trial patients utilizing TTFields therapy across the United States.
- Facilitate the initiation of patient use and maintain records within the CRM system.
- Conduct regular visits to patients participating in clinical trials.
- Evaluate the technical condition of devices and perform component replacements as needed.
- Troubleshoot device issues using standardized procedures.
- Train patients in device usage and reinforce instructions when necessary.
- Collect and analyze usage data, delivering feedback through verbal or written communication.
- Monitor therapy adherence and address extended breaks in usage.
- Act as the primary technical liaison with designated medical centers.
- Provide support for Site Initiation Visits (SIVs) and clinical patients across the region.
- Travel up to 80% of the time to meet support needs, including occasional overnight stays.
- Understand timelines and objectives of active clinical trial protocols.
- Offer patient support both remotely and in person, including outside of normal working hours and during weekends or holidays as needed.
- Operate independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Visit patients at home and consult with physician offices as required.
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Prior experience in a Device Support Specialist or similar role is recommended.
- Understanding of clinical trial operations and patient support methodologies.
- Experience supporting patients or working in clinical research environments is beneficial.
- Demonstrated competence in:
- Educating and guiding patients in the use of TTFields technology.
- Operating independently with strong judgment, communication, and decision-making abilities.
- Contributing to cross-functional initiatives beyond routine duties.
- Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office and basic troubleshooting.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license.
- Access to reliable personal transportation is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to provide on-call support and accommodate flexible travel demands.
