Job Overview
The Digital Marketing Coordinator is responsible for working collaboratively and reporting to the Sr Digital Manager and Social Media Manager, the Digital Marketing Coordinator assists in producing high-quality work and provides support across social and digital platforms for an exciting portfolio of hotel and restaurant brands. Qualified candidates are enthusiastic, organized and self-starters. As our portfolio grows, we’re looking for someone who wants to grow their career with us.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Content Creation & Execution:
1. Source and select photography for a variety of channels, campaigns, property stakeholders, and agency partners.
2. Assist with creating mood boards as needed to provide a visual story for content direction needs.
3. Manage the photography and marketing asset library and distribution, maintaining and creating a structured system for easy access and management of marketing assets - including company-owned photos and video, as well as third-party partner, influencer, and UGC assets.
4. Ensure content adheres to brand guidelines and optimized for platform specific needs.
Graphic Design:
1. Assist in the creation and/or updating creative content for a range of needs, including but not limited to invitations, signage, sales one-sheets, presentations, sales collaterals, event flyers and other marketing materials
Social Media:
1. Balance creativity and performance, ensuring every piece of content services both brand-building and conversion objectives.
2. Source visuals, implement, refine and create engaging, creative, high-impact content for the social media platforms, including Instagram Stories and Reels, TikTok Tok videos, etc. The ability to edit video content for social, add great music and text overlays, will be key.
3. Contribute to maintaining social media calendar and campaigns with guidance from the social media manager.
4. Edit all organic content, including videos, graphics, visual and written posts, with an emphasis on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok.
5. Drive and nurture meaningful community engagement across all channels, monitoring, responding to direct messages, comments, engaging with followers and building positive brand reputation.
· Build and nurture a vibrant social media community with strategic daily communications. This includes developing captivating content that encourages engagement and participation, and full community management (monitoring and responding to all messages, comments, and tags across IG, Facebook, and LinkedIn) in a timely fashion.
6. Attend hotel events and photoshoots as needed, to capture live social media content.
7. Apply platform-specific insights to enhance organic content performance.
8. Stay up to date with the latest social media tools, trends, features and algorithms, and monitor competitor activity to identify opportunities for engagement and growth.
9. Monitor and analyze social media metrics and KPI’s to track the performance of our campaigns and make data-driven recommendations for optimization.
Digital/Website Maintenance:
1. Manage and ensure up to date content on digital channels across hotel and brand websites.
2. Assist with updating OpenTable, TripAdvisor, Yelp and Google My Business accounts.
3. Assists with maintaining email database and email campaigns.
4. Sync with the digital marketing manager on channel distribution needs and timelines.
5. Assist in managing creative requests from concept to production, ensuring that all work meets brand standards and is uniform across digital and experiential touchpoints.
Additional Support:
1. Serve as support staff for Marketing Department including scheduling meetings, taking notes, providing key takeaways/next steps and following up with appropriate staff.
2. Provide ad hoc Marketing support (photo shoot prep, collateral development, etc.)
3. Assist in creating and distributing digital and social media reports as needed, tracking key performance metrics, including website traffic, email performance, social media performance and bookings.
Knowledge, Requirements and Skills
1. High school degree or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree in related field, ideally Marketing and/or Journalism preferred. A Graphic Design degree and/or experience is a plus.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in social media and digital marketing, preferably in hospitality or another related organization.
3. Experience and passion for content creation: photography, creating IG Reels, editing videos, and creating bite-size social content that connect with consumers, generate buzz, and amplify the brand.
4. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PPT, Adobe Creative Cloud (especially Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and CapCut or other video software). Bonus: experience with Airtable or a similar project management software.
5. Experience with social media platforms in a professional setting, specifically Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok, with a focus on platform-specific best practices for both organic and paid content.
6. Familiarity with social media management tools and analytics platforms (e.g., Sprout Social).
7. Strong organizational abilities, with the ability to communicate timelines and priorities.
8. High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple competing priorities/deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
9. Driven, efficient, curious and resourceful.
10. A strong understanding of design, art direction, brand voice, identity and visual storytelling.
11. Excellent writing, copy editing and communication skills.
12. Be both a team player and a self-starter (able to work autonomously and in a highly collaborative environment, both within the marketing team and across departments.
13. Based in Los Angeles and willing to travel (up to 10% of the year, as needed)
