Job Description

Job Summary

The Student Data and Information Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Office of Alumni Relations with the development and implementation of its marketing, business development, and public relations plans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with the management of the TAMIU Alumni social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn) to include but not limited to digital marketing campaigns that increase alumni engagement and alumni followers on all platforms

  • Assist with the planning and execution of alumni events to include but not limited to Ring Ceremony, Celebration of Life, TAMIU Giving Day, and alumni mixers

  • Work on Monthly Alumni Newsletter to go out by 1st of the coming month

  • Continually develop sales and marketing strategies/ campaigns for the TAMIU Ring Tradition

  • Continually update inventory and map for the Walk of Fame

  • Input alumni volunteer information in razor’s edge for each volunteer/event (i.e. alumni mixers, meetings, etc.)

  • Other duties as assigned i.e. making copies, typing materials, data entry, etc. 

  • Update alumni U.S. and World Maps

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Enrolled at least half-time, 6 credit hours per semester for undergraduate and 3 credit hours per semester for graduates.

  • Maintain a TAMIU overall GPA of 2.0 for undergraduate students and 3.0 for graduate students.

  • Must meet all other requirements as stated in TAMIU’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAPP).

Preferred Requirements

  • Sophomore 45 schedule credit hours or more

  • Have general understanding of Dustdevil experience and involvement

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in use of personal computer workstation with common software applications.

  • Ability to organize and multitask functions to ensure compliance with deadlines.

  • Outstanding customer service skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills.

  • Problem analysis and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to learn and use multiple software programs.

Other Requirements

  • Position requires on campus, face-to-face interactions.

  • Position requires maintaining a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.

  • Work schedules are created by the department based on departmental needs but ensure it does not conflict with class schedule.

  • Promptly complete all required training.

  • Submit time sheet biweekly.

Pay of Rate: $9.00/hour for up to 19 hours weekly
