The Global Support Program Coordinator, under general supervision, works collaboratively with leadership across the university to plan, develop, and implement programs, events, and initiatives that advance the mission of the Department of Student, Global & Community Connections office and support the division of Global, Community and First Gen Initiatives at Tarleton State University.
Officing on the Stephenville campus, the work hours are typically Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with some evenings and weekends required, especially during peak designated times in Fall and Spring terms. Occasional travel to Fort Worth and Waco campus locations. Must have the ability to work remotely at the request of the university in times of inclement weather or other special circumstances.
Responsibilities:
40% Campus Initiatives Development and Support:
Responsible for the development and implementation of creating, assessing, planning, and hosting initiatives and community and campus-wide programs. Assists with maintaining The Global Passport Project. Assists with efforts to develop and implement global learning, and skill-building initiatives targeted to students, staff, and faculty. Participation in Divisional training and initiatives. The successful candidate will know the appropriate software for deliverables, assessment, and reporting on any related divisional initiatives.
30% Student Experience:
Responsible for supporting, planning, implementing, examining, and providing initiatives for students. Manages developing partnerships with students focused on global experiences which includes assisting students in the passport process, to ensure the experience for study abroad is achieved.
15% Administration:
Assists the Director in establishing short- and long-term goals and strategic planning for the office of Student, Global, and Community Connections. Works closely with professional staff to help achieve departmental outcomes related to student leadership and initiatives. Collects data to assess and evaluate programs relating to divisional initiatives. Develops and updates training materials such as passport information, and event planning-related material and delivers training to professional staff.
10% Other duties:
Works with administrators, staff, and students across the department and University to promote and implement campus resources and opportunities.
5% Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3 years of related experience.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Education and Experience
Master’s degree with 1 year of experience in higher education event planning with knowledge of university programs and procedures.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Salary Range:
The target base annual salary range is $47,000 to $61,940.50 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
