Job Description
At TAL, we’re passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of Australians. In this role, you’ll help drive pricing excellence within our Individual Life insurance portfolio. Working as part of our Pricing and Value Management team, you’ll dive into complex datasets and actuarial models to generate insights that inform robust pricing decisions and commercial strategies. In this role you will:
- Execute regular pricing experience analysis and assist with the development of pricing assumptions for TAL’s Individual Life portfolio.
- Maintain, develop and enhance pricing databases and experience analysis calculations to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Perform investigations to provide actionable insights for new product development and existing product reviews.
- Support pricing decisions by sourcing and analysing key policy, claims, and underwriting data.
- Promote continuous improvement in data collection to improve monitoring and insight, including management of reinsurance partnerships.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in actuarial science or mathematics, with progression towards Fellowship of the Actuaries Institute (or equivalent).
- Confidence and mastery of life insurance actuarial mathematics, including strong understanding of experience analysis principles and theory.
- A continuous improvement mindset with a drive to enhance modelling efficiency and insights.
- A creative and curious thinker, eager to take on new and unfamiliar challenges with confidence.
- Past exposure to actuarial work, including experience analysis (preferred).
