What you can expect to be working on:
Analytics Infrastructure: Transform raw data into clean, well-documented data models that power business intelligence across Stepful. Partner with Engineering to land data in our warehouse reliably. Build the semantic layer that makes complex data simple and accessible for all stakeholders.
Self-Service Analytics: Partner with analysts and business teams to democratize data access through our BI tools. Create intuitive dashboards and establish standards that empower teams to answer their own questions.
Data Quality: Ensure data quality by proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact decisions.

This job is for you if you have:
5+ years of experience using data to solve business problems (e.g., as an Analyst, Analytics Engineer).
2+ years of hands-on experience with dbt or a production programming language (e.g., as an Analytics or Software Engineer).
Expert SQL skills and a deep understanding of data modeling best practices.
Strong track record of building reusable, well-documented, and scalable data models.
Experience with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, etc.) and BI tools (Preset, Superset, or similar).
Ability to collaborate across teams, translating business requirements into robust technical solutions.
Bonus points if:
You have experience with Fivetran or similar modern data stack tools
You have Python skills for data processing and automation
You've implemented data observability, reliability and cost optimization strategies
You have experience in EdTech, HealthTech, or mission-driven organizations
You've worked with customer data platforms (Segment) and marketing automation tools (HubSpot, Customer.io)
