About the Position

This position will be referred to as a Community Health Director and is under the direct supervision of the Office Director of Community Outreach and Education. The Community Health Director will promote population health by coordinating community-based health-behavior change programs from planning to evaluation for diverse populations in a variety of settings within their assigned public health region. The Director will supervise and provide responsible and complex administrative support to a team of regional preventive health staff. The Community Health Director will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and convening community leaders and stakeholders from diverse disciplines for the purpose of addressing policy, systems, and environmental change strategies aimed at the prevention and control of chronic conditions and promotion of optimal health. Utilizing a community development and health systems approach, Directors will promote partnerships, policies, and best practices based on the evidence. Candidate must have experience in leadership, and effective communication both oral and written. They must have sensitivity to challenging experiences and the ability to empathize with the needs of public health patients/clients. This is a Non-State, TIME-LIMITED (14) position.
