The Divisional Vice President (DVP) is an operations executive with responsibility to lead, manage and achieve high margin growth of the Division. The position reports to the Zales Brand President and requires collaboration with all other Brands within our portfolio, as well as other business units. The position requires managing multiple hierarchal teams in multiple locations across North America. Responsible for ensuring that the assigned team meets and exceeds established goals within the assigned geographic market territory. Serves as an essential key figure in the development of the culture, the DVP is required to lead by example, promoting ethical conduct and compliance with the laws and Company policies and procedures, exercising clear and unequivocal leadership. This leader will be the catalyst for generating the energy and excitement in the field for their team and those that support that team to drive the brand to new levels. This leader will also be responsible for executing our “Grow Brand Love” strategy for Zales and elevating the brand value proposition focused on “style and trend.”

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Day-to-day management: The DVP is responsible for overseeing sales, operations, finance, and personnel development, ensuring team compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Team engagement: The role requires creating an inclusive and innovative team environment while maintaining professional standards and creatively while addressing challenges and issues.
  • Adherence to company values: This leader must exemplify the company's core values and ensure compliance with policies to support business objectives.
  • Strategic planning: Developing short and long-term plans to achieve business objectives and evaluating opportunities for growth and resource utilization is crucial.
  • Collaboration: The DVP is expected to work with various leadership teams and departments to deliver optimal solutions and improve customer experience.
  • Financial accountability: The role includes managing the divisional budget, monitoring financial performance, and ensuring achievement of sales and profit objectives.
  • Talent management: This leader partners with Talent Acquisition to recruit and develop a high-performing team, ensuring positive, inclusive candidate and team member experiences.
  • Career development: This Executive is accountable for the job satisfaction and growth of team members, establishing goals aligned with operational plans and strategies for success.

Core Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required or comparable job experience; Advanced Degree preferred.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and facilitating teams to identify and implement solutions to complex problems.
  • Experience presenting to a range of audiences – sales teams, leadership, division leadership and senior executive/C-suite level.
  • Strong proficiency developing and maintaining cooperative and professional relationships with team members, managers, and representatives from other divisions and organizations.
  • Proven experience establishing and implementing effective administrative programs and procedures and establishing priorities for the completion of work in accordance with sound time-management methodology.
  • Demonstrated experience with personnel management including hiring of new staff, mentoring, conflict resolution, problem solving, motivation and leadership.
  • Multi-Site experience across broad geography (national/super-regional).
  • Proven track record of significant revenue growth, both organic and new business development.
  • Track record of developing successors and promoting from within.
  • Minimum eight (8) years related experience in a Senior Leadership role.
  • At least 15 years of experience in marketing, product management, retail, sales.
  • At least 5 years of experience directly managing people including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work.

Technical/Other Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic oversight to a high functioning, high performing Division.
  • Established ability to win work and complete projects profitably.
  • Proven ability to prepare, execute, and achieve strategic business development plans.
  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal communication and technical/computer skills.
  • Strong safety focus and work ethic. Ability to work in a team environment across multiple locations within the organization.
  • Excellent Project management experience.
  • Must be results-oriented with strong initiative.
  • Background using logic and reasoning to understand, analyze, and evaluate a variety of situations and research information to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to the situation.
  • Managing high priority pursuits and projects. Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.
  • Analytical skill set, with the ability to identify complete reporting and key function data tracking as well as use this data for performance analysis and predictive / forecasting. Executive presence with experience engaging senior level leadership, customers and team member.
  • Position requires travel up to 50% of the time for business purposes.
  • A flexible working style and an ability to work independently and with teams.
  • Performs additional duties and projects as assigned.
  • Consistent regular scheduled attendance is considered an essential function of this job.
