$131,300.00 - $170,438.00The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Responsibilities:
The Assistant Director of Advanced Practice collaborates closely with clinical leadership to support and advance the strategic goals of the department/division. This role is instrumental in developing, implementing, and optimizing Advanced Practice Provider (APP) education programs, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and clinical excellence.Position Overview
The Assistant Director of Advanced Practice – Education leads efforts to support the recruitment, onboarding, professional development, and retention of a diverse and skilled APP workforce. This role is responsible for designing and overseeing programs that foster seamless transitions for new hires, promote continuous learning, and support career advancement while cultivating a culture of inclusion, engagement, and professional growth. The Assistant Director collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to optimize processes and foster a culture of excellence and accountability.

Key Responsibilities
Education & Professional Development
- Develop and oversee educational programs, continuing education, and skills development initiatives for APPs.
- Coordinate and manage key training events, including Grand Rounds, Spring Forward, Pharmacology Day, and other education sessions.
- Collaborate with APP managers, service-line leaders, and educators to ensure alignment with clinical and institutional needs.
- Maintain and update the Intranet site with relevant educational content and resources.
- Spearhead Mentorship Program for transition to practice for new graduates.
Communication & Outreach
Oversee content management for the APP Instagram page, ensuring engagement and the dissemination of relevant educational and professional content.
Lead and manage the APP newsletter, ensuring timely and informative updates for the APP community.
Act as a liaison between APP leadership and clinical teams to enhance communication and professional engagement.
Advocate for APPs and represent their interests in senior leadership discussions.
Advocacy & Leadership
Act as an ambassador for the APP team, advocating for their needs and representing them in senior leadership discussions.
Promote alignment with ICARE values, fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment.
Adapt to evolving priorities and institutional needs, taking on new responsibilities to advance the mission of the department and organization.
Clinical Practice
Maintain a clinical practice as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in a defined specialty area. (50% effort).
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant required. Demonstrated leadership experience in advanced practice, with a strong record of clinical and professional contributions.
Nurse Practitioner
Require a Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.
Physician Assistant
Required completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)
