Director of Internal Communications & Employee Engagement
Job Description
We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Director of Internal Communications & Employee Engagement to lead the development and execution of internal communication strategies that inspire, inform, and connect with our employees. This role will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, driving initiatives that foster a strong organizational culture, support change management, and enhance the overall employee experience. The Director will also oversee our employer brand strategy, ensuring alignment between internal culture and external reputation.
What You’ll Do:
Internal Communication Strategy
Develop and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy aligned with business goals and company values.
Serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership, advising on messaging, tone, and delivery to ensure clarity, consistency, and impact.
Lead communication planning for company-wide initiatives, including town halls, leadership updates, and organizational announcements.
Change Management Communications
Design and implement communication plans that support organizational change, transformation, and growth.
Craft transparent, empathetic messaging that guides employees through change and builds trust.
Partner with HR and business leaders to ensure alignment and readiness across all levels of the organization.
Content Strategy & Storytelling
Oversee the creation of compelling content across internal channels (e.g., intranet, newsletters, digital signage, video, and social platforms).
Ensure all messaging reflects the company’s voice, values, and strategic priorities.
Collaborate with creative and marketing teams to produce engaging multimedia content.
Employee Engagement & Culture Building
Champion initiatives that promote two-way communication, employee recognition, and a sense of belonging.
Leverage surveys, focus groups, and feedback tools to measure sentiment and inform strategy.
Partner with HR to support culture-building programs and internal campaigns that reinforce our mission and values.
Employer Brand Oversight
Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and Marketing to align internal culture with external employer brand messaging.
Support the development of content and campaigns that showcase employee stories, workplace culture, and company achievements.
Ensure consistency across internal and external touchpoints, including careers pages, social media, and recruitment materials.
Measurement & Optimization
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess communication effectiveness and employee engagement.
Use data and insights to continuously improve communication strategies and content.
Report regularly to leadership on progress, impact, and opportunities for improvement.
What You’ll Bring:
10+ years of experience in internal communications, employee engagement, or related fields, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Proven expertise in change communications, storytelling, and strategic planning.
Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills.
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to work across all levels of the organization.
Experience managing employer brands or working closely with talent and marketing teams is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
