Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. 

 

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring proper stock levels, and supporting logistics operations across the organization. This role plays a key part in improving inventory accuracy through proactive reconciliation, tracking, and reporting. In addition to core inventory duties, the specialist serves as a primary liaison for communicating stock availability, discrepancies, and inventory-related updates to internal teams and external stakeholders.

 

Day to Day Roles and Responsibilities:

 

  • Monitor, track, and reconcile inventory levels and stakeholder demand across multiple systems.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full inventory audits; investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain and update inventory records in enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, WMS, CMMS).
  • Coordinate with procurement, shipping/receiving, and operational departments to ensure inventory accuracy and timely replenishment.
  • Communicate inventory status, shortages, and excesses clearly to relevant teams, including warehouse staff, purchasing, and end users.
  • Prepare and distribute inventory reports, dashboards, and alerts to support business planning and operational decisions.
  • Serve as the point of contact for internal inquiries related to inventory availability, asset tracking, and order fulfillment timelines.
  • Support inventory-related training for staff and ensure adherence to inventory control procedures and policies.
  • Assist in identifying process improvement opportunities to streamline inventory workflows and enhance visibility.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and 2 years of experience or an Associates degree and 4 years of experience or a High School diploma and 6 years of experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active secret clearance. 
  • Experience in Supply Chain Management and or Logistics.
  • 2+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain support.
  • Proficient in inventory management systems and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP/WMS software preferred (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain inventory data and issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Target Salary Range

$51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
