Responsibilities

Position Overview:We are seeking an expert-level Systems Engineer to provide strategic and technical leadership across multi-disciplinary engineering teams. This role supports the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System for Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and other federal partners, ensuring the delivery of timely, accurate, and reliable GEOINT capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and advise on the full spectrum of systems engineering functions, including requirements analysis, solution design, scheduling, system reliability and resiliency, service development, integration, testing, evaluation, and maintainability.

  • Support the Government in planning and analyzing user requirements and architectural traceability to identify opportunities for system automation and optimization.

  • Evaluate and provide recommendations on cloud service capabilities, workflow improvements, and scheduling constraints.

  • Offer strategic insights and recommendations on technology adoption and solution design changes based on evolving requirements and emerging technologies.

  • Translate mission and user needs into actionable system and capability requirements.

  • Contribute to system architecture development and the allocation of requirements to appropriate components and programs.

  • Perform and support system integration efforts across various engineering domains.

  • Lead and support Engineering Assessments, Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Course of Action (CoA) evaluations, and technical trade studies.

  • Assist in project planning, technical risk management, performance engineering, and interface design.

  • Provide expert-level guidance on aligning organizational vision, strategy, and operational needs with technical solutions and capabilities.

  • Coordinate integration efforts across multiple major systems acquisitions involving interagency and cross-government collaboration.

  • Supervise and guide a team of Senior-, Mid-, and Junior-level Systems Engineers, ensuring high-quality deliverables and aligned technical efforts.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Imagery Analysis, or a related STEM field. An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree, or 2 years of experience with a non-STEM degree.
  • 18+ years of experience working in government or industry in relevant work areas including: DoD/IC Acquisition Process, Requirements Process, PPBES Process or systems engineering of large complex System of Systems or Service Oriented Architecture environments residing in cloud, on premise, or hybrid infrastructures.
  • 18+ years of experience with a and strong understanding of systems engineering
  • Previous IC or DoD program/project work
  • Experience in integrating spectral data into spectral exploitation tools (HSI).
  • Direct experience supporting the NGA and/or mission partners. 
  • Active TS clearance AND the ability to obtain SCI clearance and successfully pass a polygraph.

Desired:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering or in a related technical or scientific fields such as Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program.
  • Working knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering, processes, tools and

  • INCOSE Expert Systems engineering Professional (ESEP)
  • Licensure as a professional
  • Membership or leadership participation in any of the following professional organizations:
    • ACSM
    • ASCE
    • ASPRS
    • OGC
    • SAREM
    • USGIF
  • Extensive work experience in the field of geospatial
  • Experience engineering solutions using Cloud-based
  • Experience engineering solutions using structured and unstructured Big
  • Experience engineering solutions using Automation, Augmentation and Artificial Intelligence
  • Demonstrated expertise in photogrammetry, remote sensing, image science, information sciences, geographic information systems, geomatics, or related fields.

Target Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
