Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Technical Baseline Lead (Staff Systems Engineer) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located on the Rancho Bernardo campus in San Diego, CA and will require a hybrid work schedule with on-site work a minimum of two days per week. Reporting to Triton System Engineering and Integration Team (SEIT) lead, the selected candidate will lead the engineers and analysts of the SEIT Technical Baseline Management disciplines to perform tasks in support of Triton programs across Triton Enterprise. This includes Technical Change Management, Hardware/Software Compatibility Analysis, Government Furnished Equipment (GFx) configuration analysis. 

The selected candidate  will report to the Triton SEIT lead as a discipline lead. The selected candidate will work closely with Triton System Engineering (SE) program area leads, Triton program managers and chief engineers to ensure the integrity of Triton technical baseline, managing the approval and implementation of engineering change according to Triton program process.

What you get to do:

•    Work closely with Triton SEIT lead and SE program area leads to manage the process, tasks, and resources in the SEIT Technical Baseline discipline, including Technical Baseline Management, HSCM, Change Management, and Flight Release, to support various programs and contracts in Triton Enterprise portfolio.

•    Demonstrate understanding of Technical Configuration principles such as drawing tree hierarchies, requirements for engineering change and cross-build hardware/software compatibility

•    Lead Change Control Board (CCB), Technical Review Board (TRB) including influencing and direct changes to the processes associated with job responsibilities

•    Coordinate with Customer (USG) counterparts to understand GFx configuration changes and their associated impacts to Triton program Integrated Functional Capabilities (IFC)

•    Communicate efficiently and effectively with Triton SEIT lead, Triton PMs/ Chief Engineers, and customers on the Triton Technical Baseline, change process, assessment of the impacts to the proposed changes. 

•    Provide coaching, leadership and guidance to effectively motivate assigned team in task execution

•    Manage and track all engineering changes, their impact across all program areas, and understand how they affect the IFC configuration

•    Lead development of flight clearance documentation including customer coordination to ensure timely delivery of Flight Clearances

   

Basic Qualifications:

  • Staff Engineer: College Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 12 Years of experience with BS, 10 Years with Master’s, or 8 Years with PhD
  • Experience with leading a team in a technical discipline such as Engineering or Technical Change Management
  • Experience directly interacting with Customer counterparts
  • Ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret clearance
  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Experience in Autonomous Systems Programs
  • Familiarity with Parts Lists, Hardware/Software Compatibility, Manufacturing systems, Temporary Engineering Order, Flight Clearance documentation
  • Experience working on program with concurrent Development, Production and Sustainment activities
  • Experience in other CDM disciplines, specifically Configuration and Software Configuration Management
  • Familiarity with Configuration Audit processes
  • Experience in EVMS (CAM certification)

Salary Range: $171,000.00 - $256,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
