Northrop Grumman Mission Systems’ (NGMS) Network Solutions Business Unit (BU) is looking for Associate Project Management to support the Scalable Strategic Networks Department onsite in San Diego, CA

What you will get to do:

You will oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Review status of projects and budgets; manage schedules and prepares status reports. Assess project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients. This position will also be responsible for supporting major milestones associated with an integrated master schedule and collaborate with various teams and stakeholders to meet objectives.

Discretion/Latitude: Ability to work under only very general supervision. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.

Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results would normally require a moderate expenditure of resources to rectify. Deals effectively with change and challenges and helps others do the same. Understands the need to act with a sense of urgency to meet the needs of the business and stakeholders.
Liaison: Frequent internal company and external contacts. Represents organization on specific projects. May make presentations to small groups.
Additionally: Other duties as assigned to meet mission and assignment objectives as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 0 years of project management/related industry experience or 4 years of relevant experience may be added in lieu of degree .

  • Strong computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); up-to-date with advancements in office equipment and applications

  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and handle multiple tasks and managers in a fast-paced office environment

  • Proven success managing projects with different customers across multiple phases of the program lifecycle

  • Ability to prioritize and complete managing tasks and schedules

  • Experience interfacing with all levels of employees and Leadership

  • Must be a US Citizen

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An active DoD Secret clearance that has been granted or reissued in the last 5 years or is currently enrolled in continuous evaluation

  • Special Program Access (SAP)

  • Experience with Tableau, Workload Forecasting (WLF), or similar reporting and staffing tools.

  • Must possess a high level of initiative and ability to effectively handle multiple tasks

  • Ability to work well independently with minimal daily direction, as well as part of a team

  • Must be customer focus oriented; previous experience with government customers is a plus

  • Must be able to work amicably with a diverse work force and respect differing opinions

Salary Range: $61,200.00 - $91,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
