The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) is looking for a Product Manager - Data to join our Denver/hybrid team.
The Product Manager - Data develops the product’s vision and direction, maximizes its value, and directs its evolution into a working product. This position is responsible for the overall success of a product, focusing on the strategic aspects of product development, including market research, product vision, and aligning the product with business goals. In addition, the Product Manager - Data leads a team, both directly and indirectly, to achieve the goals of the product in the market.
Requirements
Essential Functions
Business Case Development:
- Develop business cases to justify product investments and prioritization.
- Identify revenue opportunities and cost implications.
- Collect and analyze data on products and those developed by competitors to guide and enhance the product roadmap.
Product Strategy and Road Mapping:
- Define the product vision and set long-term goals.
- Work closely with leaders to develop, build and implement solutions that meet customers’ needs.
- Create and maintain the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Collaborate and meet frequently with key stakeholders including marketing, customer service, finance, and company leadership to bring the product strategy and vision together.
Product Lifecycle Management:
- Oversee the product lifecycle from concept to launch and beyond.
- Partner with product delivery teams to develop/deliver products.
- Adjust the product strategy based on market feedback and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, sales, engineering) to ensure product alignment with company goals.
Market Research and Analysis:
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape.
- Analyze data to inform product strategy and decisions.
- Measure and track KPIs of products within their portfolio to ensure alignment of vision, strategy and roadmap are being achieved.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Communicate product strategy and updates to stakeholders, including executives.
Other duties as required and necessary to ensure the success of the organization.
Supervisory duties
Direct supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; coaching, mentoring, and providing guidance; planning, assigning, and directing work; setting goals, appraising performance, and recognizing achievements; addressing performance or behavioral issues; and resolving employee concerns.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Ability to consistently promote, support, work, and act in a manner in support of MGMA’s mission, vision, and values/behaviors.
- Strong track record of streamlining processes and implementing tools to drive efficiency and clarity within product teams.
- Demonstrated ability to use both qualitative and quantitative data to develop sound strategy and drive innovation.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business Administration, or related discipline
Experience
- Ten (10)+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Strategy, or similar, ideally with experience in associations, membership or subscription-based products.
- Experience working with and developing products that have a strong data and content component.
- Demonstrated success in bringing ideas from concept to execution and launching commercially viable products.
- Demonstrated success in taking flagging products and rejuvenating them using prospective customer input.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.

This is a largely sedentary role, so employee must be able to remain in a sedentary position while focusing for extended periods of time throughout the workday. Position also requires occasional movement inside the office to access file cabinets, printers, etc. While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to successfully navigate scenarios requiring the following operational abilities:
- Ability to operate PC/keyboard and other office productivity equipment
- Ability to position self to traverse/navigate around typical office setting
- Ability pull/push, lift, open/close, grasp/manipulate, transport up to 10 lbs.

The approximate salary range for this position is $172,000 - $200,000, depending on the skills, education, and experience of the candidate.
