Job Description
Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Payroll Specialist
Support MSK’s payroll operations as a Payroll Specialist, a role that combines auditing, reporting, customer service, and technical coordination. You’ll interact with employees, HR, and external partners to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely resolution of payroll issues. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented and service-driven with strong problem-solving skills.
Role Overview
- Review and distribute daily and biweekly audit reports generated in Workday for team auditing.
- Process tasks as per the biweekly post-settlement checklist, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor scheduled payroll calculations and escalate anomalies to management and technical teams.
- Manage weekly mail intake from the central office, scanning and routing documents to appropriate teams.
- Provide frontline support to employees and external partners on payroll inquiries, including direct deposits and tax updates.
- Fulfill documentation requests from former employees, such as pay slips and W-2s.
- Coordinate with Chase Bank to resolve direct deposit issues, including misrouted payments.
- Process Verification of Employment and wage-related insurance claim forms with HR Absence Team.
- Create and distribute off-cycle payments in coordination with HR Legal and Payroll stakeholders.
Key Qualifications
- Familiarity with Workday or other enterprise payroll systems.
- Experience handling sensitive payroll issues and external audits.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- High attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

- Schedule: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST, Monday - Friday
- Location: Hybrid; 2x a week at 633 Third Ave, New York, NY
