The Manager of Thought Leadership & Executive Visibility plays a key role in supporting the Thought Leadership and Executive Visibility team in executing against and helping to ensure the success of a Global Speaking and Awards Strategy for Manulife. This individual will partner with account leads as well as communications and events teams to support Thought Leadership deliverables for company Functions (Marketing and AI, Operations, Technology, DEI and HR), in addition to supporting day-to-day executional needs of the TL & EV team for business segments and accounts. This role will also be responsible for our executive visibility platforms, which clearly outline how our executive leadership team shows up externally via earned and owned content, all in support of our brand and business objectives. The ideal candidate brings a client-facing and detail-oriented skillset, and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. He/she is a team player committed to service excellence, building stakeholder relationships, and upholding our values.  

Position Responsibilities 

  • Execute on thought leadership strategies across company Functions and Segments, which will include pitching and managing earned speaking and award opportunities in partnership with account leads.   

  • Researching, vetting and strategic tracking of global conferences and award opportunities, both reactively and proactively.   

  • Support in measurement and reporting on speaking and award wins on a quarterly and monthly basis.  

  • Supporting routine content process needs for global messaging house, including site updates/edits and coordinating with leaders on monthly business review highlights.  

  • Developing executive LinkedIn content & supporting with routine editorial calendar development/execution.  

  • Overseeing company relationships with target industry groups. 

  • Relationship-building at key events/conferences (ideal candidate will bring prior relationships to the role, and has experience in executive staffing).  

  • Developing executive briefings and talking points for external speaking opportunities.  

  • Developing award submissions for executives/business lines/products. 

Job Requirements: 

  • 3-5 years in communications, or a related field (agency experience preferred/a strong plus)
  • Exceptional writing and story-telling skills with the ability to work through and simplify complex issues.

  • Prior experience in media relations and working with journalists and editors a plus.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, negotiate and build consensus effectively.

  • Exceptional client management and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to create and manage integrated PR/marketing plans and timelines.

  • Strong command of traditional, digital, social, and integrated marketing tactics.

  • Confident interacting with all levels of an organization, including individual contributors and senior leaders, handling confidential information with professionalism.

  • Strong leader with proven project management skills with the ability to juggle projects, prioritize and meet tight deadlines.

  • Self-directed problem solver, resourceful and proactive, as well as creative thinker, curious and open to innovative ideas and approaches.

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

  • A growth mindset and purpose-driven approach. 

  • Moderate travel expectations cross North America as executive staffer.

Working Arrangement

Hybrid

Salary range is expected to be between

$86,250.00 CAD - $155,250.00 CAD
