Damco Distribution Canada, Inc. handles end-to-end warehousing and distribution logistics needs utilizing our strategic network of storage facilities. Summary: The Talent Acquisition Specialist is the first point of contact for candidates to be introduced to Maersk and is therefore one of the most critical roles in the company. This role has the potential to have an immediate impact on every person you speak with on a daily basis and the power to change lives.  Working on requisitions from a Warehouse Associate to a Head of Facility gives this position a ton of variety on a daily basis and the opportunity to be a connection point for hiring managers and candidates.  This role handles hiring for all of Canada in addition to providing support for the U.S.

This role is hybrid: 3 days/week in the office and 2 days/week remote.

Role Expectations:

  • Responsible for on-time delivery of talent to the business by effective utilization of sourcing strategies.

  • Build trusted partnerships with business and HR stakeholders; understand and the hiring needs, capabilities and knowledge requirements & gaps of the businesses you support.

  • Lead the delivery of a seamless recruitment process to the organization; effectively contributing to process improvement measures.

  • Develop and nurture potential candidate leads through relevant hiring communities and events.

  • Deliver superior hiring manager and candidate experiences.

  • Generate brand awareness for Maersk as an Employer of Choice by driving and supporting the talent attraction strategy.

  • Advocate and champion diversity hiring initiatives to enable Maersk to achieve its diversity ambition.

  • Talent Advisor to the business on talent demographics, market, and competitor intelligence.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain network of contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates.

  • Initiates contact with potentially qualified candidates for specific job openings via resume applications and cold calling via headhunting efforts.

  • Conduct interviews to determine qualifications and decide on applicability to roles within the company.

  • Develop and maintain contacts with schools, alumni groups, and other public organizations to find and attract applicants; attend job fairs and events as company representative.

  • Coordinate interviews between hiring managers and candidates.

  • Facilitate candidate offers.

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum of 4 years of recruiting experience.

  • 2 years of experience preferred within a warehouse environment.

  • Extensive knowledge of Canada hiring regulations and laws is required.

  • Candidate-centric mindset

  • Flexible mind-set and the ability to work in an ever-changing work environment is a must.

  • Preferred proven track record working in a fast paced, volume hiring environment.

  • Strong computer skills and the ability to pick up new systems quickly.

  • Workday preferred but not required.

Pay Range:           

 

CAD $85,000-$95,000*
 

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
