About the Role
The Manager of Talent Strategy, System Admin at KIPP Texas plays a critical role in driving excellence in talent management by ensuring effective support of talent performance systems. This role involves leading efforts to maintain and improve systems that support the evaluation systems for teachers and other staff across KIPP Texas.. Responsibilities include overseeing the creation and maintenance of essential tools such as the evaluation progress trackers, ensuring content is accurate and timely. Collaboration is essential, as this role requires effective cross-functional collaboration between different teams to facilitate data-driven decision-making processes.
The Manager oversees the integrity and efficiency of various talent management platforms, including SchoolMint Grow and Panorama. This includes responsibilities for system configurations, quality control checks, and user management to ensure seamless operation and data accuracy. The role extends to managing the eligibility and verification processes for performance management systems, in partnership with the Data Transformation team, to enhance system efficiencies. Additionally, the Manager leads the creation and maintenance of collaboration tools, public folders, and essential communication channels, ensuring that all project deadlines are met and that the team is aligned with KIPP Texas’s strategic goals.
Strategic acumen is critical for the Manager, who designs and implements project management processes for employee evaluation systems. This role involves developing annual project plans and agendas for team meetings, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability. The Manager facilitates key events, such as the annual DataFest, to help the team reflect on past performances and set future goals. By maintaining a high standard of data quality and system integrity, the Manager ensures that the talent initiatives at KIPP Texas are executed effectively and contribute to the overall success of the organization’s educational mission.
Key Responsibilities
Platform management (25%)
- Oversee platform configuration and user management for SchoolMint Grow, Smart Recruiter, and Panorama Education
- Conduct periodic QOI skew quality control data compilation
- Monthly SchoolMint Grow quality control checks (user access, form settings, teacher evaluation certifications, incorrect forms, etc.)
- Ensure platform contracts are executed on time
- Create or curate platform user guides and resources for staff
- Work in partnership with vendor and various cross-functional teams on platform integration projects and data imports, as needed
- Provide platform troubleshooting support to staff
Data Collection & Accuracy (25%)
- Owns and oversees data verification through eligibility confirmation and roster verification tasks
- Partner with the Operations, HR, and Business Intelligence teams to streamline data verification systems
- Routine TES participant eligibility review using reports from HR
- Maintain list of eligible teachers, special circumstances, and ineligibility causes
Survey Coordination and Support (20%)
- Collaborate with designated survey coordinators to ensure high levels of survey participation
- Design survey coordinator guidance and resources in collaboration with the Operations Team and School Management Team
- Ensure survey coordinators have access to progress monitoring tools and communication templates
- Submit Marketing requests for survey-related promotional content
- Complete user experience testing of surveys In partnership with survey vendor(s) and Analytics
- Update and maintain survey-related project plans
- Document survey plans, communications, and resources for future survey administrations
Progress Monitoring (20%)
- Progress monitors implementation of teacher evaluation system at key performance windows
- Create, update, and maintain the Teacher Evaluation System and Performance Engagement Process Progress Trackers
- Oversee progress monitoring content creation and updates to internal communication cascades
- Participate in TCP placement and advancement through ensuring correct SGAs (in partnership with analytics and academics), developing team systems and protocols for determining and tracking SGA changes (ensuring alignment and compliance with TIA parameters), and collaborate on reviewing requests for review with TCP team as a whole.
- Set up tasks/systems and ensure team is meeting project deadlines
- Send project launch communications
- Facilitate team tactical, strategy, and stepback meetings
- Set up & maintain team collaboration documents
- Set up & maintain external facing documents for performance management
- Provide case management support
Talent Strategy Team Collaboration (10%)
- Manages Talent Inbox and directs questions to appropriate teammates
- Create agendas for team meetings as well as systems to monitor completion of work/collaboration across the team
- Create, monitor, and update annual project plans for Talent systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3+ years managing Talent Management practices, Performance Evaluation or Onboarding programs
- Experience in schools or education preferred

- The starting point for the salary range for this position is $65,000 and is commensurate with experience and internal equity

- Ability to travel to various locations within Texas or nationally; this role may travel up to 2 times a month as needed for regional orientation coordination and cross-collaboration meetings.
