The Project Manager is responsible for leading cross-functional design teams, fostering internal and external client relationships to move the project along and for delivering complex manufacturing projects on time, within scope, and within budget. The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator who is not afraid to ask questions, a problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced precision-driven environment. The Project Manager is a high-energy, detailed oriented individual that establishes and maintains the overall project schedule to ensure projects align with customer requirements, quality standards, and business objectives across key industries including aviation, aerospace, theme parks, railroad, and contract manufacturing.
Requirements
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams (engineering, production, quality, procurement, sales) and external customers to ensure seamless communication and execution.
· Lead end-to-end project management activities including planning, scheduling, execution, and delivery across all project milestones/phases.
· Define project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with senior leadership and key stakeholders.
· Facilitate regular project meetings to ensure team alignment and monitor milestone progress.
· Track and manage project performance; hold team members accountable for meeting deadlines and maintaining customer and company standards.
· Collaborate with company department stake holders during project proposal and quoting processes to ensure feasibility and alignment with customer needs.
· Manage change requests, mitigate risks, and resolve project issues to keep efforts on track.
· Ensure compliance with industry regulations, customer specifications, and internal quality standards.
· Oversee project budgets and financial tracking; analyze reports and adjust plans to ensure adherence to cost and schedule targets.
· Partner with Manufacturing, QA/QC, and Safety teams to ensure successful project execution and adherence to operational goals.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and other external stakeholders.
· Provide team leadership including supervision, coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
· Keep management informed on the progress of the project and budget through regularly scheduled meetings.
· Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and post-project reviews.
· Ensure proper documentation of project activities including charts, status reports, action logs, and meeting minutes.
· Support the integration and use of company systems, tools, and process improvement initiatives.
· Maintain high standards of ethics and compliance throughout all project activities.
· Perform other duties as assigned; responsibilities may change based on operational needs.
Requirements:
· Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
· 5+ years of project management experience in a manufacturing environment; aerospace/aviation/ defense experience preferred.
· Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet) and ERP/MRP systems and ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
· Thorough knowledge of scheduling, estimating, purchasing and engineering principles and techniques.
· Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, subcontract agreements, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
· Demonstrated leadership skills, excellent organizational and effective communication skills are preferred.
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to achieve results through collaboration and influence.
· The ability to implement leading-edge technologies to benefit the project.
· Travel: Up to 30%
· This position involves access to a project or site that is restricted to U.S. citizens only, in accordance with federal regulations, or other government contract requirements. All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a background check and clearance for access to the project site.
Preferred Qualifications/Skill
· Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite and Solid Works is highly preferred.
· Familiarity with quality standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001 is a plus.
· PMP certification is a plus.
· Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, fabrication, and assembly.
