The Role

Logistic Operation overseeing the front to back execution of physical metal and metal concentrate trades, including warrant deliveries to/ cancellation from exchanges, OTC bilateral physical metal/metal concentrate purchase/sales.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Execute shipments on Ocean going Freight with reference to purchase/sale contracts and Charterparty terms
  • Be responsible for inland logistics (mine to port and port to end user)
  • Make sure scheduling system is up to date and accurately reflect positions/inventory
  • Liaise with document teams/legal to make sure contracts are accurate from a logistics perspective
  • Appoint and liaise with agents/labs/surveyors for smooth running of shipments
  • Produce and settle laytime calculations for cargos
  • Be responsible for documentation of cargos and to prepare invoices for same in a timely fashion
  • Take responsibility for reporting of programme and respond to ad-hoc queries from the trading desk

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience in refined metal operations or metal concentrate operations, or dry bulk cargo operations, including Coal/ Iron Ore
  • Experiences with warrant delivery / warrant cancellation with metal exchanges preferred.
  • Educated to a Graduate level with a minimum Upper Second-Class Honours in a related subject degree
  • A strong proactive work ethic with a desire to drive tasks to completion is also required
  • Willing to be “hands on” and not be afraid to getting your “hands dirty”
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate globally at all levels
