Desktop Support Technician’s job entails supporting and maintaining in-house desktops, computer systems, end users, and peripherals. This also includes diagnosing, installing, repairing, upgrading, and maintaining all equipment and hardware while assuring optimal computer performance. The Desktop Support Technician may also troubleshoot problem locales in well-timed and accurate fashion.

Responsibilities

  • Installing, configuring, testing, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting end user networked peripheral devices, servers, and workstation hardware.
  • Utilize the ITAC help desk software for tracking and answering employee computer issues.
  • Liaising with and providing support to staff and end users on computer operation issues.
  • Working with end users for identifying and delivering essential PC service levels.
  • Performing on-site diagnosis, analysis, and resolution of complicated PC problems for various end users and implementing and recommending corrective hardware solutions.
  • Developing and maintaining an inventory of PCs, monitors, and other peripheral devices.
  • Receiving and responding to incoming calls, Help Desk tickets, and e-mails regarding hardware and PC problems.
  • Conducting research on various products of computer in support of its development and procurement efforts.
  • Preparing documents on instances of hardware repair, installation, failure, and removal.
  • Should have thorough knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows Server 2008-16.
  • Must have 2-4 years of experience and fair knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft 365.
  • Ability to organize, schedule and execute tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work on your own under fast paced intense conditions.
  • Should be able to liaise efficaciously with all users.
  • Ability to reason-out and analyze logical steps.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Exerting up to 25-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
